NHL PLAYOFFS Rnd. 1 - Hawks vs Blues

Post#1 » by TNBT » Wed Apr 16, 2014 10:40 am

The time of year that we've all been waiting for is here. It's playoff time! I'm really looking forward to this matchup against a very good St Louis team. I think we will get a really good feel for where the team is at based on how we perform against such quality opposition. It will also depend a lot, in my opinion, on just how "healthy" Toews and Kane are. We're being told that they're fine and ready to go, but they obviously still must be suffering lingering effects from their injuries, or if not will likely be a little rusty early in this series.

I'm really interested to see what you guys think of this series, and what your thoughts and predictions are.

Dammit!!! Less than two minutes left in the game at St. Louis ties it up.

On the other hand, I'm so stoked that I found a Apple TV and got the NHL Gamecenter deal this year.

Two OT periods down and still tied at 3. This is becoming an epic game.

Tough loss in 3OT in game 1. Game 2 starts at 5am tomorrow Aussie time, but I'll be up to watch it. Hoping for a bounce back, and also hoping that Toews and Kane are both better for having a game under their belts, rather than pulling up sore.

I don't believe it, another lead given up late and loss in OT. It's like a bad dream so far, and the series isn't looking good, especially given that Seabrook could be facing a game or two on the bench.

Only way we can go is up though, I suppose.

Yeah this is about the time the blackhawks gotta snap out of it and start racking up some Ws. They have been dominant all season long besides their slump following the olympics. I have a lot of faith.
Like u said the first to games just slipped away. Losing Seabrook is tough but the hawks are good and can weather the storm. If the Hawks execute no reason why they still cant take the series.

Game 4 on now. Sharp tripped, Versteeg elbowed... and that's only in this period. Any chance the officials actually open their eyes and call a fair game? Or have they got their life savings on St. Louis this series?

Hell yeah! If I had a sister, I'd want Patrick Kane to impregnate her. No kidding.

We've got the momentum back, but we can't goof off in game 5 and think we have them beat. St. Louis will come out fighting, and we need to do the same. Going to be an epic game.

After game 2 I don't know who thought this would happen. Tremendous turnaround by this team, and what a finish by Toews.

Bring on round 2!

Haven't had a chance to watch game 6 yet, but very much looking forward to it. Sounds like it must have been a massive third period by the boys.

Surely was. Dont want to spoil it but the hawks struck quick in the 3rd and kept it going to the very end.

This was a great series by the Hawks. Down 0-2 and then win 4 straight. Much respect to the blues.
