Wings Trade Pick!

Post#1 » by TSE » Sat Jun 25, 2011 2:23 am

Moved from 24 to 35 and picked up 48, good move as all the top 20 positional players were gone. Nobody has selected a goalie yet (through 25 picks)!

Smart move. In the second they need to grab at least one, if not two d-men

Man I really wanted us to get some fresh goalie value in the pipeline especially considering we had our choice of the best goalie in the draft at pick 35, that's disappointing. The top 2 goalies ended up going very soon after our pick, and then the 3rd best goalie went immediately after our next 2nd round pick ugggh, and the 4th best is gone, so no more goalies.

Bad draft imo after seeing our first 3 picks. We should have traded Ken Holland for a draft pick, and promoted Yzerman to be our GM. He would have at least drafted Namestikov for us instead of trading back to then blow the double lower picks.

Jurco is good value as he as a mid-20s rated prospect that we grabbed at 35. Huge talent but inconsistent. Luckily bringing him into our system, you assume we fix that problem. Great pick

The next two d-men are fine as well. Ouellet is just solid in every aspect. Sproul has more potential and offensive flair, but is more likely to bust.

2 d-men and a highly rated wing is perfect. Love the trade down, love the picks

Well yeah no doubt that Jurco is the most exciting thing we got out of this draft. His favorite actress is Emma Watson, favorite movie The Hangover, and he spends a lot of time on Facebook. Did we just draft a 15 year old boy? :)

Machenko, D, was our last pick, he was ranked 25th overall out of European skaters, not bad! He didn't have many stats from last year, looks like he was probably injured.

Im very happy with our draft. We re-stocked majorly on d-men and got a bunch of different types. Jurco is going to be good....I gotta feeling.

The big sleeper and my favorite pick is the 4th rounder, Tvrdon. Barely played last year with a shoulder injury, which caused the drop. But I read an article that said he could be a second rounder and in 09/10 he put up big numbers, 56 points and 90 pims in 45 games. Big, strong power winger. My absolute hidden gem pick of the draft
