City council to review plans for new arena

I honestly don't understand why so many people are against this. This is exactly what downtown Edmonton needs.
EDMONTON - The second day of scrutiny for the downtown arena goes ahead Tuesday when Edmonton city council looks at whether to rezone land for the project.
There are 15 people registered to speak on both sides at a public hearing, including officials from Oilers owners the Katz Group, which wants to erect the facility and related buildings on 6.4 hectares of land along 104th Avenue.
I honestly don't understand why so many people are against this. This is exactly what downtown Edmonton needs.
