2012 NHL Draft Thread

Post#1 » by Morris_Shatford » Sat Jun 23, 2012 12:18 am

May as well continue this here;

Derrick F'n Pouliot???

You move Staal and leave the third best pure offensive player on the board for Derrick F'n Pouliot???????

Its not even as much passing on Fors,
Its the fact that there are at least three better blueliners on the board!

There is just no Justice if the Bolts add another offensive super talent like Forsberg.

The Bolts take Slater Koekkoek;
Another blueliner.

That's seven in a row;
The thing with Koekkoek is that he is years away, if the Bolts wanted to piss me off by not taking Forsberg they would have at least taken Olli Maatta

And the Semyon Varlamov deal gets that much worst for the Avs.

The Caps finally show some commonsense and take Filip Forsberg..the second most talented winger in the draft...11th.

Sabres roll the dice and take Mikhail Grigorenko;
Solid pick at 12.

I expect a run on forwards now due to the blueliner stupidity that just went down,
But I am sure the Stars will end up taking Cody Ceci or Olli Maatta just to spite me.

I would take Faksa all day long, but Olli Maatta is on the board and he is better then half the blueliners already drafted.

Clearly the Stars agree as they take Radek Faksa!

Buffalo loading up on offense!

Adding Zemgus Girgensons with Calgary's pick @ 14
HIm and Grigorenko make for an interesting first round for the Sabres

Sen's take Cec (D)i, guy has a cannon should be a nice add

Caps take Thomas Wilson (RW) with their own pick, doesnt really have the skillset to score much in the NHL, but will hit everything on skates

SHarks take Tomas Hert l (C), who may be one of the best passers in the draft, the rest of his game will need a lot of work

Hawks grab Teuvo Teravainen (LW) super skilled, but lacks bulk. Surprised he lasted this long

Bolts take the first goalie Andrei Vasilevski with the Wings pick;

However they took the wrong goalie,
Vasilevski is solid, but Subban and Oscar Dansk on the board I am pretty surprised that he was the first goalie taken

Flyers take Scott Laughton (C)

Flames take Mark Jankowski???? Really?
First guy I needed to google,

The Pens fall assbackwards into Olli Maatta (D) which actually makes the Staal deal worse, had they taken the best offensive player on the board with the Canes pick they would have still ended up with a better defenseman then Derrick Pouliot at 21

Cats take Michael Matheson (D)

Bruins take Malcolm Subban;
WIth Thomas on the way out a Rask/Subban duo in the future is a pretty solid, Subban was the BPA by miles at this pick and it makes the Habs/Bruins games all that more fun

Blues take Jordan Schmaltz (D)

Brendan Gaunce (C) falls into the Nuck' laps at 26

The Yotes take the nastiest player in the draft Henrik Samuelsson and they will benefit from his game in a hurry

Rangers take Brady Skjei (D)'

Devils take Stefan Matteau (Son of Stephan Matteau who knock the Devils out of the 1994 playoffs against the Rangers)

Kings take Tanner Pearson

The run on blueliners was pack mentality at its finest; what blows my mind is with all these guys taken Matt Finn (and to a lesser extent Ludvig Bystrom) is still on the board going into the second round?

I cannot believe Oscar Dansk will be the 3rd goalie taken,
