Markov out for 4 months (O'Byrne 6 weeks)

Ouch. At least Hammer is coming back but this still hurts. Time to bring up Weber or PK and see what they got.

Also, the more useless Tit sister came out and spoke since demanding a trade like he Superstar that he isn't. Kings and Hawks are both interested and there's rumors going on RDS of the Tit Sisters being packaged for Sharp or Frolov. I'd love both deals - especially Frolov.

This is a huge loss

It's pretty much being confirmed that it is for 4 months now... so this is a huge blow. Time for O'Byrne to show that he's ready. To be honest I don't think we need to bring anyone up, aside from someone in the 7th spot, as we have Spacek who is basically the exact same type of dman as Markov. It's a huge blow, but I think well be alright.

Hamrlik is back and will replace Markov with Spacek. Can't complain. Still hurts a lot for our PP though.

I still think we should call up PK or something... but i figured when he was getting 2 guys to carry him back to the dressing room that it was going to be pretty serious, 4 months... that might as well be the year, I think the habs where in big trouble before markov went down, that might be the perverbial nail in the coffin with can't coach offense Martin behind the bench. Get used to 45-22 shot differential... better hope the pp is good and price bounces back or it's going to be a long long year in hab land.

First off, it'll be nice to get Hammer back but Markov is irreplaceable. Secondly, there are no rumours regarding Kostitsyn to anywhere. That is internet blog crap.

Belle in not NHL material and neither Weber nor Subban is ready. The short-term answer is MA Bergeron. He's unrestricted, shoots over 103 MPH and can skate. He's a PP specialist and would come very, very cheap. Thinnk of him as Sandis Ozolinsh. Of course we'll have to wait for Teflon Bob to get his finger out of his nose before anything happens.

I saw Belle play live and was impressed, that's the only reason why I'd want him up here. He's big and takes up allot of space, and can skate pretty good. He didn't cause to many turnovers and didn't take a shot though.

I wish my blog was as popular as the person who named their blog RDS.

To be honest I wouldnt have minded seeing Belle as the 7th dman, but now with O'Byrne out as well I expect to see Weber being called up as the 6th defenseman. Man are we ever dropping like flies early on, geez!

Weber was aright in pre-season, I wasn't impressed. I just hope this injury bug stops going around, it would suck for it to happen :(

O'Byrne's out for 6 weeks. :(

Bad ankle sprain + something happened to his knee.

Yep... and Weber has been recalled from Hamilton.

So now unless Weber is GREAT in those 3 games out west, we will have to make some sacrifices to acquire another D...Are there a lot of right handed shots out there available? MA Bergeron is a leftie and he is even worse than Brisebois defensively and with his decision making. Bieksa was rumoured to be available...He would obviously be great, but what is the asking price?

BTW I have faith in Weber, always liked him and he can produce if given a limited role as a 6th D plus as a PP shot...

Our D looked bad against the Sabres, we need someone to step up or Gainy to trade for a mobile, stay at home defenseman.
Our guys were constantly out of place on Sat night, and couldn't make that first pass out.

Thank God Price is playing well, not looking forward to playing the Flames tomorrow :S

Well, I guess that is the price you pay for being greedy and playing so many preseason games. Obviously if you can get 21 000+ people to show up and pay for these games, your going to have as many as you can...But while other teams were getting invaluable practice time, the Habs were just playing games with AHL'ers...

So I say give this unit some time under Martin, they will be ok
