Considering that horrendous 1st half, I'm pleased with the 10 point margin.

Calinks wrote:I haven't seen the game but looking at the box score. I am very disappointed in Darko lately. Maybe some of that is his ankle but I think mentally he has lost his spark again. Wes Johnson... I keep bringing him up and his invisible play and tonight he has 0 points. I really think he can do a lot better. Disappointing Minnesota. Disappointing.

If we could just get all of these guys contributing every night we'd be a much better team. I'm not talking huge games just playing within yourself and contributing. We have two players with roles on this team, Beasley and Love, scorer/closer and scorer/rebounder. The rest of the guys it's pretty much a crap shoot. Every game it's different. No wonder we have zero consistency. No one knows what they're supposed to do.

I really want to beat the F out of the Blazers the next two times we play them. Speaking of wanting to beat the F out of teams and speaking of the next two times we play, our next 2 games are against the Spurs.

So our next four games are Spurs, Spurs, Wizards, and Magic.

A tough few games there (except for Wizards of course) and I predict we'll come out with 1-3.

Even though we lost game, we passed the test within the game, which was to bounce back with some fierce energy and passion in the second half. I wouldn't be surprised if Brewer starts the next game, which will have the Rambis haters fuming. There is no question Wes is physically ready for an NBA rookie, but he is just not mentally ready, doesn't know how to prepare himself to bring it every night or how to get himself involved. Same goes for Darko lately. I know Rambis is the Zen master's disciple, he needs to get these guys meditating or something.

I agree, Brewer has been playing pretty good the last few games. Hopefully his energy and hustle can become contagious with the rest of our starters from the very start of the game. I think Wes/Webster/Tolliver can be solid defensively off the bench and Tolliver is a guy that can bring the type of energy and hustle that Brewer brings.

they dont deserve any more moral victoriy cred, they've already shown they can win a half, they need to start playing a good game. This team has good shooters and athletic lengthy wings, tons of rebounding and a half decent defensive center, they should at least accidentally have good wins occasionally, this is just tragic

You're probably right, the way he's playing like he doesn't even want to be here.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not chalking this one up as a moral victory, just the second half as.... half a moral victory
Seriously though, this team needs someone to step up as a vocal leader on the floor, or, at the very least, someone who brings contagious energy. Someone who can figure out how to motivate his teammates to not allow this kind of effort. If that player HAS to be Brewer, so be it. Nobody else has stepped up and shown they can consistently be that player. Beas shows flashes, but doesn't do it consistently. Having Tolliver back should energize the bench, which will help a lot.

Same old story with turnovers and sloppy, sloppy defense. I think it might be time to send Wes back to the bench. Just tinker with the line-up a little bit. Send the message to the other starters that your role and minutes aren't set in stone and changes WILL come if they keep this up.

I can't believe we've got the spurs again, twice within 3 days. Four games against a team in less then half a season!? Oh and they just happen to have the best record in the league. This next week is going to be even more brutal to watch than the last.

Wes has hit the rookie wall. If this was a college season it would be over after this many games. He'll get his second wind eventually, but I do think he needs a little time off to catch up physically and mentally.

I missed the game, only saw glimpses. What happened to Mikes face? And also what happened to Mikes ankle I see he didn't play many minutes and they were working on it in the 3rd.

wes matthews quote after game:
“It’s a blessing, man,” Matthews said of his rise from undrafted free agent to multimillionaire. “Every single one of us in this league is blessed to be living out our dreams and playing the game we love. I’m just appreciative of every day. Keep working. Stay humble.”

a lot of ours guys need to remember how lucky they are, every single game. there is 0 excuse for not bringing energy and playing hard. as mentioned, all those people who went to the game payed good money, ventured through the cold to see and support something they care about and believe in. it is unacceptable the lack of energy from some of our guys *cougharko*. coach can not and should not need to remind these guys how lucky they are.
