POR: Rudy Fernandez + #22 for #16?

Blazer fans are saying that this deal has been accepted by both sides, but while I remember a discussion a while back, I don't remember what the conclusion was.

Is this true? Do most Wolves fans want to do this deal?

I don't want to do that , we might miss out on a Paul George or something, I like Sessions for Rudy or Sessions/23 for Rudy. Sessions would be great for them, he does nothing for us, seems like a good match.

I think you know that most people here would love that deal, the only thing that I think may hold some people back from saying so would be that many of us on here have somebody that they really want at 16, who probably will not be available if we drop down to 22. That being said, if we add Fernandez and we really want that guy from the 15-20 range, we could definitely afford to trade the 22 + 23 and/or other various middle of the road assets to get there. So in sum, I think we would go for that deal, if for nothing else because of his potential influence on Rubio coming over, etc.

Definitely agree with the part about he could help to bring Rubio over next year, and he should get pretty good playing time at SG and could move Brewer to a more natural SF position.

Depends on who's available at #16 on draft day.

I think we could get Rudy for a pair of seconds. If the Blazers fans are on board with this deal then that is probably true.

Nope. Rudy is worth at least the #23, and 2 seconds doesn't equal that.

Nope, he's not worth the 23 in this draft. If we draft a first rounder we get that player for four years and odds are he will be better than Fernandez and the putrid, i mean disgusting, numbers he put up this year as a 24-25 year old. Did I mention he wants to be traded?

Rudy isn't that good and the Blazers have zero leverage.

The drop off from 16 to 22 is too much. If there is no one we like there I would consider it, but there are too many good players in that range who won't be there at 22.

At this point his trade value is pretty low for Portland. Last offseason people were talking about moving Flynn for him. If they don't trade him, he will just be an unhappy distraction. I agree we will probably be able to get him for less.

Unless we know this is what Rubio wants, why do it?

What does Rudy give that Wayn0 does not? Decent bench SG, not a starter.

God no, the most we should give up for Rudy is a second round pick.

If MIN says "no thanks," I really don't see POR discovering a line of GM's hoping to give picks for Rudy.

Fernandez is a better ball handler and passer, something we sorely lack.

And he can jump out of the gym. I'd do this in a snap.

But you can draft two guys at the 16 and 22 that can do that and they can probably play the game of basketball better then Rudy.

I'm so confused with this talk about improving our post players with Cousins because he is an improvement on Al or Love. But improving Ellington for Rudy doesn't apply? Doesn't seem very consistent. I'm just asking when it applies or when it doesn't, what is the philosophy you are working on?

But on a playoff team Rudy sat on the bench barely getting mins and complained a lot so in no way should a team give up two draft picks for him.
