Nice, well there's almost 10 million in capspace gone, so S&T is the only option now.

I love it. Darko + Pekovic for $9.3M/year is a steal.

That's about the same money Biedrins makes a year.

So, I'm not quite sure what Kahn is doing here as an outside observer. As far as I know, both Pekovic and Darko are 5s, right? Is there any reason to pay both of them ~33 million for the next several years?

Let's hope Toronto wants Big Al so we can get in on the deal someone else proposed.

Bosh S&T to Miami
Jefferson to Toronto
Miami 1st, Beasley to Minnesota

This would clear Jefferson's salary off the books completely and open another $8M in cap space.

It was the only option to begin with, 10 million per wouldnt be enough to get Gay.

This is about what we expected to pay for Darko... Will be interesting to see how the options work on the contract... Team option after 2nd year? That would be ideal!

I think that we knew if we were going to get a tier II free agent we would have to do a sign and trade with Al, Flynn, Love or one of our other assets with value. I know that I'd love to see Kahn get aggressive and persue a Al + cap for Bosh... Shoot, I'd be o.k. with getting rid of Al or Love plus cap for Bosh.. Lets get him!
We have to do the impossible, but it is possible.

Good deal. I think it pretty much guarantees Al is gone and most likely for cap space. Right now he's the only large contract we have and while I don't necessarily like it, makes sense in the overall plan.

I like it. The only thing left that could be considered a poor value is Al's deal. I don't believe it is bad value but the perception is that he is overpaid.

the annual salary is decent but I'm kinda concerned about the length of the contract. it better include a team option after the 1st year.

We could of offered him the full 13 million we had before any signings...

that's true but it's still Darko we're talking about. I mean I like him very much on our team and I'm glad we resigned him but on the other hand, I'm still not 100% convinced about his consistency.

of course he's in a different situation playing for us which makes me believe in him but after all I'm still a bit concerned.

Yes both Pekovic and Darko are 5's, but Pek only average about 18-20 mpg last year so its possible that he would simply take whatever minutes Darko doesnt play. Plus Darko could also slide to high post and play with Pekovic.

Value wise, having both these guys locked up for less than 10M is a good deal. No lets just hope that Darko is pulling some serious rocky IV style training at home and comes back with a vengance next season.

Seems like a good gamble to me. I like the 4 years as well, especially at the price.

They can play together in limited minutes also. Darko often would defend the better 4 last year because of Al/Love not being able to do it. I see Pekovic as a 70/30 c/pf with those 30% playing with Darko.

Compared to what Gortat makes this is a great deal. We knew the Gay stuff would need to be a S/t so it does not bother me. We had to get a Darko deal done to get rid of his awful caphold.

The list of overpaid centers is large and varied, I am okay with 5M per season.

Does anyone know the structure of Pekovic and Milicic's deals, are they back loaded or level? What is our available capspace now (without any Al Jeff trade)?
