Will Bill Simmons live up to his word?

Post#1 » by Ace_Rockola » Thu Dec 8, 2011 8:39 pm

As many of you may remember during the start of the Kahn bashing era, the sports guy Bill Simmons made this comment.

"If Ricky Rubio plays even one minute for the Timberwolves, I will drive from Los Angeles to Minnesota for his first game while wearing a T-wolves jersey that says “KAHN” on the front and “No. 1” on the back. (It’s an 1,835-mile trip. I looked it up.) But I don’t want to root for the T-Wolves fans to lose Rubio; they’ve suffered enough. I hope I am wrong. I don’t think I am."

Im personally fine with him not driving, he can fly. everyone needs to tweet him and see what he has to say. In general I think it'd be good publicity for him to do anyways.

I think he tried to pass it off as a personal bet with Kahn, and that Kahn supposedly didn't agree....Joker. Man up and do what you said you would do.

Not gonna lie, I've been blocked by Bill Simmons after something he said about the Pups that pissed me off. Don't even remember what it was, but I'm pretty sure I said something about his wife.

He'll probably claim Rubio will force his way out of Minny within the next week.

Is it okay if we say harsh things because Bill Simmons is a complete douche-nozzle and inexplicably overrated writer? Because I have bigger problems with that than the fact that he's a **** bet-welcher.

Jonathan Givony's article wrote:“The bottom line is, why would he want to play in Minnesota?” a senior member of Rubio’s camp said this month. “He’ll continue to say all the diplomatic things, and Minnesota needs to keep his value up for trade purposes, but the family’s preference is to be on the East Coast, specifically New York, Miami or Boston. He wouldn’t be troubled if he has to stay another year.”

If Simmons passes near Givony's house, they can pay the gasoline together.

If he were to live up to his word and actually drive from LA to MN for the Dec 26th game he'll be spending his Xmas somewhere around Lincoln Nebraska. Amazing if he does it and extremely entertaining but I wouldn't fault him if he chose to fly given the time of year.
