I bring you, BATUM-GATE: Part 1

Kahn and Olshey at the mythical "Offer sheet turn-in desk." Kahn slowly nudging the offer sheet into the the slot, intensely staring at Olshey.

Kahn: "I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna!"
Olshey: "Do it!....I don't care...I don't care."

Kahn nudges it one inch. Olshey's eyes widen for a brief moment, then...poker face.

Kahn's phone rings. He answers.
Kahn: "Yeah...uh huh...do it...."
Stares back at Olshey.
Kahn: "Darko? Gone. Poof! I'm serious!"

Olshey: "See this face?" (finger points to face shaking ever so slightly from intensity) "I'm totally serious!"

Kahn nudges the offer sheet another half inch..

Olshey: "You know, Nic doesn't even like mosquitoes, he told me... That's right." (nods)

Kahn: "Webster's next...."

Olshey: "You mean the lame horse that we trade to you for that pick?"

Kahn: "I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT!, You are sooo busted!"

Olshey: "S#!T! WAIT! It wasn't me! It was that other guy! Good luck pinning that on me."

Kahn: "Dammit.." (snaps his fingers in disappointment)

All the while, the lady behind the counter is chewing gum and filing her nails.

Kahn: "I just dumped Miller with 2 picks! That's how I roll."

Olshey: "I'm the king of dumping players with picks.."

Kahn: "That worked out horribly! Really, that was terrible!"

Kahn:

Lady behind counter: "The NBA offices are now closed. Please come back at 8am."

Olshey: "See you at 8am, Kahn."

Kahn: "I'll be here at 7:50!"

Olshey: "....I'll be here at 7:30!"

Kahn (as Olshey exits the office): "7 'O CLOCK!" (smirks)

Olshey (popping his head back through the door): "6:50 AM!"

Kahn: "Oh yeah? ...I'm gonna sleep here all night!"

Lady behind the counter: "You can't sleep here all night, Mr. Kahn."

Kahn: "...6:50?"
Olshey: "6:50."

*Olshey, after waiting for him at the NBA office since 6:50am, finally sees Kahn stroll through the front door at 9:35am.

Olshey: "Took you long enough, thought you chickened out."

Kahn: "Wait, that was today, right? Oh, sorry." (grins)

Olshey: "Let's just get this over with."

Kahn finally submits offer to lady behind the counter. She looks it over briefly.

Lady behind counter: "I'm sorry Mr. Kahn, this offer is invalid."

Olshey: "Invalid?! Let me see that!" (takes offer sheet). Why is this written in crayon? Nicolas BatTum? Batum only has one T, what is this crap?"

Kahn: (shrugs)

Olshey: You mean to tell me that I've been dragging my butt down here for the past three days for an offer sheet that isn't even real?!!"

Kahn:

Olshey: "You are a complete ass. You know that? Why would you do this?!"
