I personally want Rivers, because his 5.4 FTA and ability to get to the rack is something that this team needs so bad. He is also arguably the best pick potential-wise at #17 (Quincy Miller could be argued) and we need some attitude on this team, seriously. I'm tired of these charmin sponsored players like Wes trotting down the court all smiles when we're down 10.

+ 1, but I think Rivers will go much earlier.

Rivers won't be there when we're on the clock IMO. I think Rivers will go somewhere 8-15.

Thinkig seriously about this, with a 17pick I will go with Fournier or Waiters, unless Leonard or Henson are available, I don't think so.

Wolves fan first. Clippers fan distant second.

On the "Get a shooting guard" bandwagon

I'd love for us to try to trade up to get Jeremy Lamb, only thing that scares me off is that he isn't overly aggresive...but he has everything you would want.

Quincy Miller would be a great gamble, but I see him climbing once the draft gets closer. Long/athletic guys who can shoot are rare, especially ones that are 19 years old. SF is still a huge need, nab a SF in the draft then roll into free agency targeting some SG's(Lee / Batum / Gordon / Meeks / Mayo, etc).

If we keep the pick, I have a strong feeling that we will be targeting a SF. Miller, Harkless, Taylor, Ross, and Crowder could all go from the late teens to 20s range.

I certainly hope we take BPA of a 2,3, or 5.

This. If Meyers Leonard is there, I'd have a hard time not taking him...unless there's a prospect I really like on the wing.

I don't watch much college basketball, but highlights of Terrance Ross are impressive. Reminds me of Nick Young on offense, but tenacious defender in the highlights.

From what I've seen he's more like Ariza (another former Lavin one and done) than Chandler.

Why would we be targetting a SF? I can understand them taking one if he's the BPA, but specifically targetting one seems like a stupid idea.

There's nothing that can be counted on at SF, just awful Wes or Webster and possibly Derrick Williams if he gets with Love's trainer over the summer and finds his shot.

At least SG has usable options like Ridnour, Barea and Lee, even though they're from from ideal.

SF is probably the biggest need on the roster, although SG is a close second. There are fewer options available in free agency at SF as well.

That, along with him thinking that SF might be where the value lies at the Jazz pick might be where Klomp's head's at.

Perhaps. I would think the idea, at least from the FO, would be that Williams would be the long term 3. So I doubt they would specifically target a SF. That was my point, anyway, and I don't necessarily disagree with what you said.

I'll just add though that Barea can't play SG, Lee clearly isn't ready for big minutes and Ridnour is still too inconsistent to be relied on heavily. Yes, they're usable there, but so is Williams at SF (and, I guess, Wes as well).

I'm just going with what I believe Adelman would want. I think the 2 PG lineup is a bigger deal to Adelman than most people realize or want to admit. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ricky, JJ, Luke, Wayne, Malcolm as the only 5 guards on the roster next year. We might add 1, but I believe he would be a FA acquisition rather than a rookie.

Unless Derrick makes a drastic change to his body and game, which is possible but I'm not counting on it, we have no legitimate options at SF for next year. That is why I'd be targeting an SF. When we were healthy earlier in the season, the weak spot in the lineup was at SF, not SG. Adelman isn't concerned about whether Williams is the longterm option at SF or not. He deals in the here and now.

If I had to order the positional importance heading into the draft, I'd even put adding a backup C ahead of SG. That's just how I see it playing out within the coaching staff and front office.
