8 in Europe to 88 in the NBA means he will be twice the player now.

Well, he'll make history before ever stepping on the floor. First Timberwolves player to wear 88. (and anything above 55)

88, that's awesome. Would like to see a lot more player take funky numbers. I know someone who hates the way 88 looks so should be a funny conversation.

I can remember when the only digits allowed were the digits 0-5 so that the ref could signal the player's number in one hand.

I love the offensive versatility if you put him on the floor next to Towns.

Didn't players used to have to pay a fine if they wore jersey numbers with something above 5 in their number?

Reminds me a lot of Gasol-Odom, you don't see skilled bigs paired up like that too often, but when you do the results tend to be great.

Nah, ELEVEN TIMES THE PLAYER. 8-)

Another thing: do European players even lift? I feel like they all come over looking like he/Porzingis/etc. does.

Sounds like Bjelica was a lot like Towns in that he started the sport with a lot of ball handling/passing & progressed to the forward spot. Skilled.

Garnett's definitely going to punch him now.

In white nationalism
Neo-Nazis use the number 88 as an abbreviation for the Nazi salute Heil Hitler.[3] The letter H is eighth in the alphabet, whereby 88 becomes HH.[4]

EDIT:

Oh wait, we're all good now.

In amateur radio
In amateur (ham) radio 88 is used as shorthand for 'Love and kisses' when signing a message.

I was just about to write that nazis use the 88 as a code. I can't get that out of my head, when I look at this jersey.

Was going to accuse you of copy/paste Twitter job without attribution, but then I realized it was you who tweeted it.

I don't think there's any question. He's going to be the primary backup to KG...

Flip hasn't talked like that about either Payne or Bennett.

The Crazy 88s were the group that the Bride (Uma Thurman) fought in the House of the Blue Leaves in Kill Bill.

Of course it's also the year Bjelica was born but I'm sure that has nothing to do with it.

Bjelica is reminiscent of Boris Diaw in how they play basketball, but even more so in the percentage of their body fat.
