I think he needs to get stronger, specially his upper body needs some gym work.

If he gains some strenght he will be able to finish better at the rim, because the problem with Ricky is that a lot of times he doesn't have the quick first step or the strenght to blow by his man, and then instead of driving hard and straight to the basket he has the tendency to shy away from the defender or stepping back, resulting in very poor shot percentage near the rim.

The good news is that despite the knee injury he is still allowed to work in that particular aspect, lifting weights and training in the gym. Hopefully when he is back next season he will be stronger and a a better finisher.

Yeah, that should be mandatory. Seeing how vital working on your body is in NBA basketball, he needs to do that and I'm sure he will now that he's gotten used to this specific playing style. In Europe there's less of a focus on gaining weight at that age but rather teach fundamentals and stuff. At least that's my impression.

Not cool, I went to this thread in the hopes of finding good news. Minnesota is probably going to tank the 2012-13 season. It's never to late to look up who to draft in 2013.

Edit:

Shabazz Muhammad and Nerlens Noel seem to be the best of the high school class. Might be worth keeping an eye on those guys since we're not going anywhere next season. At least LAC no longer has our pick.
