It looks like he is finishing better around the rim. I think a lot of it was a strength issue, any contact would throw him off so much it was hard to finish consistently.

It seems like contact effects him less and he is finishing with stronger moves (that reverse one handed scoop layup was beautiful and is incredibly difficult to defend).

There seems to be a night and day difference in his confidence this year

Looks like our FO doesn't want to give a 5 year deal to Rubio, and they want a 4 year deal, why ?

The 5 year deal means that is a max deal ? or they can negociate in middle ?

like 5 years, 62,5 .

12,5 M per year.

He can only be signed for a 5th year if the contract is at max money. Assuming the 66.3 million projected salary cap is accurate, a 5-year max deal with max 7.5% raises would be worth roughly $95.3 million.

Different rules for different types of contracts.

Pekovic was signed using the Bird exception, whereas a Rubio deal will be an extension of his rookie-scale contract.

Even with a raised salary cap, that's way too much, I think. He could obviously still grow into a player worth 21,5 million at the end of his contract but that's a bit risky.

If he got an averaged sum of around 16 per year with the raised cap I'd be happy, though.

Yeah, 21 million for Ricky (as the highest year) is just way too much at this point. One of the biggest fans of the kid, but until he can show his shot improved his agent has to be more realistic. If (and obviously that is a huge if) his shot and finishing ability really improves then the sky is the limit for him both on the court and in his wallet. :D

If that is the first highlight you see from him you would never guess he struggles as a shooter. Almost perfect form, good balance, good arc. If he could to that on a nightly basis... :droop:

It looks effective, but far from perfect. His jumpers look different one from another, his form is weird, but if it works in a long run it's more than enough for me.

I think his three-four non-contact jumper looked very similar and uncharacteristically textbook. Straight going up, high arc and good follow through, I don't think I have seen a game from him when he made 3-4 jumpers that all looked good. Of course he struggled with his shooting prior to this game so it might not mean that much. Hopefully this is the start of something.

The extra arc (on Rubio's shot) alone is going to help a lot.

That would be such great news...

If he becomes a little bit more effective as a scorer, I think it would be a fair contract for Ricky considering his upside and what he brings on both ends of the floor, and moving Barea to keep GRIII would be excellent as well.

The thing about the highlights from the Chicago game that has me giddy is his confidence. He looks like an entirely different player. If you go back and watch 2011-2012 games, Rubio had an air of completely not caring about him. He knew he was good and felt like he could go at anyone on the court. Last year, at times, it looked like he was out there just trying to not screw up or be noticed. Now it looks like he has an attitude like he did when he was a rookie. He crossed Rose twice on one play and then pulled up in his face! RICKY RUBIO DID THAT.
