Someone should hook him up with Jason Kidds shooting coach for the offseason.

Ricky Rubio's March shooting stats: 42.5% FG in 6.6 FGA/ 34.8% 3P/ 79.4% FT
% diferential since November +6.5% FG in -1.4 FGA/ -3.9% 3P/ -6% FT
% diferential over 13-14 average. +4.9% FG in -1.1 FGA/ +0.1% 3P/ -1.6% FT
% diferential over 12-13 average +6.5% FG in -2.4 FGA/ +5.5% 3P/ -0.5% FT

so... yeap. he's shooting less, but better.
I wonder... Any hope to see him develop as a scoring threat?

I just want him to:

1) stop pump faking at the 3 point line and taking long 2s :banghead:

2) Change his form. His form takes WAY too long to set up a shot, it seems it would be impossible for him to nail a game winner off the dribble because players would know when he's setting up for his jumper.

Rubio is above average is many aspects of this game, but people see the sexy stat (Scoring) and automatically assume he's just an OK player. I'll admit, he has very average games, but I still stand by what I said that his role early in the season was just to bring up the ball, hand it off and go rot in the corner until it's time to play defense.

I love Ricky, he's an amazing passer with charisma and plays hard on D, but just being a threat to score would make us an elite ball club and that's not even me being a homer.

Ricky's numbers without Martin/all games :

The numbers are interesting. Some are obvious (better percent without Martin) but I'm surprised (put inverted commas around this) Ricky gets less assists playing together a shooter as Martin.

in recent episodes..
Ricky Rubio's March shooting stats: 42.5% FG in 6.6 FGA/ 34.8% 3P/ 79.4% FT
Then I posted about it.. and in just 5 games on April he is averaging 46.4% FG on 13.8 FGA/27.3 3P%/ 80.0% FT.

So he is shotting much more and even better. Let's see how it ends.

From October to April.

eFG%: 36,7% - 40,4% - 35,6% - 41,2%- 42,1% - 46,2% - 48,6%
TS%: 40,9% - 47,1%- 46,0% - 48,3% - 49,5% - 55,3% - 53,3%
He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot.

This says Ricky could want nearer the max than Curry's 4 x 44. This would be equivalent to the Pekovic's contract, one year less.

His management knows his value. He is worth that much, but not the way he has been utilized of late. I hope the wolves get a coach who knows how to develop his players and at the same time use them to their strengths, or else let go of Ricky to allow him to move on. Lets see how long it takes for him to become a top 3 PG when he plays, lets say, in San Antonio.

Ricky said today in a Spanish radio that he is more interested in making the playoffs than in making big bucks.

If Kahn were still here he'd probably pay Rubio more than Curry. I have faith Flip isn't that stupid though.

While I'm aware that this is the token answer many players would give you if asked I do think that Ricky actually means it. He just seems like too much of a team player.

I really don't like Ricky playing for his national team again. Too much risk of an injury and playing under FIBA rule will not develop his game either. His focus should be in Minnesota and he should shoot jumpers all day long.

Ricky doesn't play a ton with them. They have Calderon, Navarro, Serg Rodriguez and Llull on that team.

As far as I remember in the national team Rubio usually works as primary perimeter defender

Ricky's interview on Spanish radio :

"Honestly, I think that Kevin Love will stay here. All the speculations are press-issues. He's happy here right now".

"I don't think that Kevin Love remembers about the mess with the former GM. With the new one, he has good relation".

"I would say to @paugasol 'come to Minnesota!'. It would not to bee bad. I'd take it straight away".

"My last month has been my best one in NBA. I felt with good legs, and in case of play-off, I was going up".

"If Wolves continue with this project, is a good place to be. They trust on me, and every year we've won more games".

"If next year we make a qualitative leap to play-offs, is a place to stay many years. Let's see who's the new coach".

March 2014- less than 8 feet: 51.8% FG%
April 2014- less than 8 feet: 55.6% fg%

25 games is not a large enough sample size of course, but if Rubio has finally figured out how to score in the paint at a respectable clip.....that's going to make a very big difference.

You can click on the month FG% in his splits, and make a shot chart of that month's shots.
