Any updated predictions on AKs stats after watching him in the Olympics? I'm pretty optimistic.

At the moment AK is at his most comfortable. He's had a very light year of basketball. He's playing for his country with his countrymen. He is playing European style ball. They are easily getting the best AK there is to get.

I would like to think Adelman could get nearly as much from him. He certainly is getting paid to bring it so I hope his motivation stays high here. I doubt we can bring all the comforts of home but hopefully we will be the next best thing. If he shows 80% of what we are seeing in the Olympics here on a consistent basis I won't be unhappy.

I'm gonna be a little disappointed with less than 12/6/3/1+/1+ in about 30 minutes after getting a look at him. Dudes got a lot left in the tank, those who think otherwise haven't seen him lately.

Don't expect the 18/7 he's averaging.

I think his ceiling is somewhere around 15/5, but expect more like 12/4.

He'll get more than 4 rebounds ;)
12/5/3 is his "expected" stat line I think.

Arguing over 1 rebound?

In AK's last 3 seasons, playing in a Utah system that IMO really obscured his strengths, he averaged 12-5-3 with just over a block and a steal, playing just under 30 mpg on average. I really think he will do better than that in Adelman's system. I also think he might get more minutes than we are expecting.

My prediction (in 34 mpg) is 15.8-6.4-3.4-1.7-1.6 with 48%fg 33%3p 75%ft

AK is just as good (or at least very close to that) a player as he was a few years ago... he didn't really get worse or age past his prime or anything... what happened was Utah signed Boozer and AK got less playing time and less focus on offense as a result. It also didn't help that D-Will tended to really freeze him out on offense -- it seemed like there was some sort of conflict between them. Utah was just a really bad situation for him... weird (and unfortunate) he played 10 years there.

I posted in another thread about just how valuable I think AK is, and I truly believe that. He's an excellent defender, incredibly versatile, and ranked top 100 all-time in multiple advanced metrics categories (check basketball-reference.com -- the number of these categories he excels in is surprising). IMO AK really changes games, if he was on those early 2000s Kings teams I believe he would have fit perfectly and got them over the hump, and I expect him to thrive for us under Adelman.

I'm adjusting my original 5 rebound prediction to 6 rebounds.

I'm crediting the system + faster pace for this outlandish change in thought.

Hey, big AK fan here. Last season watched few more Wolves games then usual because of Adelman and Rubio. Now you guys got AK so my interest in Wolves grew even more:).
I think it is very reasonable to expect 13pts/6reb/4ast/1.5stl/1.5blk from AK. Maybe close to 2 blk a game if he will get few minutes at PF when Adelman decides to go small. Maybe even more assists as Adelman system will let him handle the ball more then in Utah. AK is great passer and this Wolves team will be among leaders in assists, you can bet on it:)

Welcome to the boards. I'm not sure if the team will be in top assists but pretty sure will go up that list. (not too hard btw). I would say 11pts/ 5reb/ 3ast/1.3 blk/ 1.6 stl in 25 mins. cant wait to see AK in Timberwolves uniform running "like a young deer", ^^

It seems like most of us underestimated his rebounding!
