That was a fun second half. First half? Not so much.

McLemore would be a fantastic fit for us. Athletic, great shooter, and has excellent defensive potential. I'd easily trade our 1st and D-will to snatch him up. :D Bill Self loves the kid.

Not saying this is accurate but the more I look at it, the better I feel about this upcoming draft. No there are no clear "superstars" or even 'stars' but I believe there is a decent amount of solid role-players that could be had in this draft. It's going to be a good draft for any team 10-20 because I don't feel there is quite the drop-off from the top-10 and anyone in the top-20 has the potential to be the best player taken in the draft. After the top-20 or so it does seem to drop off considerably. Especially if some guys don't declare. Next year will have a lot more 'star' power at the top however.

It appears that we can't have two picks in the upcoming draft unless we actively acquire another. If we "have" our own and Memphis' then we send Memphis' to Phoenix:

However, if Minnesota is entitled to receive Memphis' own 1st round pick (top 14 protected in the 2013 Draft, top 14 protected in 2014, top 14 protected in 2015, and top 14 protected in the 2016 Draft) via Houston, then Minnesota shall convey the less favorable of the two picks to Phoenix. If Minnesota does not convey to Phoenix a first round pick by 2016, then Minnesota shall convey to Phoenix Minnesota's own 2016 and 2017 second round picks. [Minnesota-New Orleans-Phoenix, 7/27/2012]

Mclemore is beasting vs iowa state right now. 6-6 from 3, 31 points, including the game tying 3 to force OT.

Not right away IMO but he has the physical ability to be a solid defender. I think he kind of lacks that fire from the last few games I witnessed at least.

If he can go 10-12 & 6-6 from 3 I don't care if he doesn't play with a lot of energy just put in the hoop what Ricky gives you! :P

Which is why I would still take him. Guy can shoot NBA range and has a beautiful release.

I'd like to see him get a better handle and work on his iso game a bit more but nonetheless the guy has a pro made offensive game.

I think Shabazz could be pretty good as well. I like his aggressiveness to go inside and get to the line.

If our pick was later in first I'd take him in the 25-30 range

looks interesting and projected late first. just turned 19 a few months ago and already leading the russian league in scoring at 19ppg playing both wing positions ..god knows this team needs more russian flavour and need a lefty after manna, randy and supercool were here, though wolves lefty's isn't exactly a cool club. acquire mozgov and we'll be set. draft and stash and see what we have in a few years.

This draft isn't as bad as the "experts" make it sound. There are going to be several good PGs coming out. Some nice 7 footers as well.

Those PGs are mediocre and all have their flaws, like a poor man's version of the 2009 class. But I agree about the 7'-ers, bunch of interesting prospects.

I just want to get this straight: We have Memphis 1st (lotto-protected) this year in all likelihood. There is also an increasing likelihood that we will retain our own (top-13 protected to Phoenix) - However, the protection on our pick to Phoenix indicates that the Suns will receive the less favorable pick if we should have Memphis' pick as well as our own.

So there really is no point in holding on to the Memphis pick, in fact it behooves us to trade it, does it not?
