Kenny Smith is so dumb, I always suspected him to be a Wolves hater tbh...
Dallas will make the playoffs, but Minny won't? OK.

Kenny, Greg Anthony, and Steve Smith are haters. I know I'm missing more but those 3 make it very clear.

Re: Around the League: 2012-2013
Considering the injuries this team has seen, I only think we'll get better. But I see some of Kenny's point, there's three teams (Lakers, Denver, and Dallas) who many would assume will eventually surpass us. Denver's had a ridiculous road slate, Dallas gets Dirk back, Lakers get Nash/Gasol back. I can see why they'd expect those teams to rise up. I'm guessing one of those teams doesn't, but even if two do, that's still 9 teams battling for 8 spots if you put us in that group. Unless Golden State takes a major tumble, I don't see any of the others doing it.
We're definitely far from a playoff lock, but I do like our chances to fight till the end to get in.

I don't think Kenny is dumb, but I think he allways goes with the winner. In his mind, win = good, and anything apart from that doesn't matter.

Re: Around the League: 2012-2013
Yea, Kenny isn't nuts. Just looking through the standings, barring a major collapse from one of the top 6 teams, we are going to have several teams going to war for those last 2-3 playoff spots. I only see New Orleans, Sacramento, and Phoenix as teams that are extremely likely to miss the playoffs.
Then you got Houston, Minnesota, Portland, Utah, Denver, Lakers, and Dallas all battling for the final 3 spots. That is going to be a real war. All of those teams could make the playoffs in the east. Dallas and LA will likely make a run sometime after Drik and Gasol/Nash get back. Those teams are used to the post-season and have experience. There is a strong possibility they make it in. That still leaves some very dangerous teams battling for one spot. We have to beat out all of them. I also think there is a fair chance that GS does drop out down the line and that would open a new spot as well.
Either way, wolves have to start putting wins together. No more dropping games to the Magic and choking away big leads. We have to take care of business against lesser teams and kick the door in on better teams.

I don't think portland will be a threat for the playoffs; if any one of their starters gets injured for more than a week, their team won't do well because they have terrible depth.
If Love and Rubio get back to their level of last season before the all-star break, I think the Wolves will definitely make the playoffs.

Is Amare back for game against the Knicks? I wish he was getting major minutes, I swear he is the wolves lucky charm. Doesn't defend a damn thing either.

I think we underestimate our own team.
We are getting budinger soon. love is starting to feel it. and rubios minutes should go up steadily.
GSW is one steph curry ankle injury away from missing the playoffs imo.
we just need to be patient. we will catch our stride soon fellas.

I think your underestimating the strength of the West. If you look at the standings, right down to Dallas at the 12th seed every team is capable of making the playoffs. Once Dirk comes back they're sure to rise and I can't see the Lakers missing the playoffs. Hell even the Suns at 13 have won 4 in a row. We're going to need about 45 wins at least to make the playoffs, IMO.

WE also have to factor all the rust the injuries will put on us. Love is still shaky, Rubio could be up and down all season, Budinger will need time, Roy regardless of all his knee issues, is still coming off a year+ off of basketball and just wont be up to par in many areas even if he legs were fine. That's a lot of issues to be having. WE have some time to weather that but not as much as we may need.

Re: Around the League: 2012-2013
Apparently Cousins had another fit and was told to stay in the locker room during halftime of tonight's Kings-Clippers game.
Obviously Johnson was a terrible pick, but I'm still glad we took him over Cousins and dodged that bullet.

Budinger? No. He is basically done for the season, imo. Even if he isn't he probably returns at 60% just like we see with Rubio now.

Demarcus situation isn't the best to get an opinion of him: frustated, in a franchise on the edge, with a horrible team, not being recognised as a leader (although this is partly his fault)...
I think he would be great with us. Michael Beasley is called "toxic" in most of the NBA franchises, and he seemed a player with future playing with us last year.

...and the team couldn't get rid of him fast enough. Doesn't that tell you something?!

His injury is no where near as serious as Rubio's though. We could see Bud back at 100% for the last month of the season.
