I liked Ross in the draft and was hoping MN would get him.

Broy for Ariza
Ridnour for c lee
Williams + lee for Thornton or Mathews?

Ariza and lee both have some aldeman experience

I like Ariza more then a lot of people, but I'd still say no. Could ruin our chance to re-sign Bud and/or Pek this offseason for a player that is just average.

C-lee is decent, I wouldn't mind him playing a role like he did in Orlando, play defense, hit open shots and then have Shved do most of the scoring at SG off the bench.

Thornton is solid, I think he's best as a 6th man scorer though. Matthews would be nice though.

(I can't remember if I posted this, and didn't see it in the thread, so...)

If Brandon Roy retires, ask the NBA to get a Disabled Player Exception.

At half his salary ($2.65 mil), it would allow us to make an offer to Pietrus above the minimum that he should accept. No roster limit issues either.

What do you guys think of this trade

Minnesota gets:
Wilson Chandler
John Lucas III

Denver gets:
Andrea Bargnani
SAC 2014 2nd (from TOR)
TOR 2013 2nd
3 mil (from Toronto)

Toronto gets:
Derrick Williams
Luke Ridnour

Williams for Chandler seems like the most logical move for the Wolves IMO. But if DEN doesn't want Chandler it may have to be a 3 way. I think we'd be down for a Bargnani/Williams swap

Price is too steep for the Wolves. What we really need is a legit 2 guard who can knock down 3's. Chandler gives us a Buddinger clone. Though I do think Chandler would be a good fit in this offense, he and Buddinger are the same player.

What do you timberwolves fans think of Terrence Ross? A great 3pt shooter/defender has a pretty high ceiling as well? The Raptors system isn't giving him time in game, he impressed in summer league though, I just don't think he'd be getting a chance here in Toronto behind Derozan, we're in need of a 3-man and Derrick Williams could give us some much needed rebounding from the 3, thoughts?

Really wished we had been in a better position to go after him. How's he shooting?

Unfortunately, Pietrus at anything over the minimum just isn't worth it.

No it really doesn't. Chandler is currently averaging less points than shot attempts. Williams' trade value may be down due to his poor play, but Chandler's is down even further due to poor play and coming off of an injury and Chandler's value started off lower in the first place.

Yeah, I had to laugh at "most logical." Trading Williams for straight cap relief and then adding another minimum salary guy makes much more sense than adding a terribly playing Chandler with a large long term contract.

The logical move is trading Williams for a productive expiring (hello JJ Redick) and/or picks, or a SG on a rookie contract, although a desirable one whose team would trade him makes that more difficult.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

In case Afflalo and Redick are unattainable.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=btkksa7

Sounds fair for all? Might need to add valuve for Philly?

I still hope we could somehow get Afflalo, he's just a perfect fit at SG for us.

MarShon Brooks is buried pretty deep on the bench in Brooklyn.

He would be a great get. Kahn should be on the phones with Brooklyn.

If you're looking for a shooter that can defend, Meeks does that. His shot was off during the early part of the year but he's playing well and he's cheap.

Am I right in assuming that Minny is looking for expiring contracts and a SG?

Since Chicago is desperately trying to get under the lux tax, Richard Hamilton should be available for capspace or at most a 2nd round pick. Veteran, shooter, known winner. Obvious someone Adelman would like.

Someone like Morrow should come cheap too and would be the starting SG with his elite 3 pt shot.

Then you have someone like Courtney Lee, a 2 way player, who played under Adelman. Honestly Lee was a much more consistent player than Budinger. A little harder to get but should be attainable. Another one of Adelman's pet player.

Would you do Meeks-Blake for Barea. You get a shooter that's getting hot with Brown out of the way and get out of Barea's contract early, while improving your league worst team shooting.
