Selling High on Love

I know this may not be popular, but hear me out and give your comment based on value: If Kevin Love is as frustrated and ticked as Woj makes him out to be it does make sense to trade him at his highest value, which is sooner rather than later.

MN out: Love, D.Williams, Barea, Ridnour
MN in: Kidd-Gilchrist, Thompson, Diop, Jack

Wolves get a very nice return for Love and clear roughly $20 million in cap-space.

Rubio/Jack
Thompson/Shved
Kidd-Gilchrist/(Budinger)
Kirilenko/Cunningham
Pekovic/Stiemsma

GS out: Thompson, Lee, Jack
GS in: Love, Barea, R.Williams

Warriors get the big prize in the trade. Love goes closer to home and Warriors take their fast-start and add a major building block to Curry/Barnes/Bogut.

Curry/Barea
Rush/Jenkins
Barnes/Jefferson
Love/Landry
Bogut/Ezeli/Biedrins

CHA out: Kidd-Gilchrist, Diop, R.Williams
CHA in: Lee, D.Williams, '13 MIA 1st, '13 LAL 1st

Bobcats have a woeful front-court offensively. They add a great rebounded/scorer in Lee as well as a decent prospect in Williams who is still only 21. They also add a couple late 1sts for their troubles.

Walker/Sessions
Henderson/Gordon
Taylor/Williams
Lee/Williams
Biyombo/Haywood

CLE out: '13 MIA 1st, '13 LAL 1st
CLE in: Ridnour

Cavs send out two late 1sts for one of the best back-ups in the league. Cavs struggled when Irving missed extended time and this gives them a solid back-up for the next couple years.

Irving/Ridnour
Waiters/Gibson
Gee/Miles/Casspi
Thompson/Samuels
Varejao/Zeller
On the Wolves trading Kirilenko, Williams & Ridnour for Pau Gasol:

I can't see MJ trading Kidd-Gilchrist yet. He's really high on the guy.

Is this really selling high in your mind?

Love for MKG, as much as I like the guy, is selling low. MKG is a really nice prospect, but that's all he is. If we're moving Love now, while he still has multiple years left on his contract, we need to get back a legit, young, all-star level talent- think Harden or Anthony Davis.

Barea and Ridnour for Diop and Jack is definitely selling low. Diop and Jack might be expiring but they're both worthless. Barea and Ridnour are at least worthwhile backups.

None of these teams make this move.

-Warriors are on a roll with the core they have

-Bobcats are going to continue with their future which heavily relies on MKG being the face of the franchise

-Cavs wouldn't give up 2 1sts for Ridnour

-Wolves aren't likely to shop Love around. Maybe in a year or two, if he continues expressing his true feelings to the media, but not this season.

Ridnour is not worth 2 first especially coming from a team that has the 3rd worst record in the NBA. What's the point taking on additional salary for a losing season?

MKG is a beast on a rookie contract. The team really has no incentive in become another treadmill team.

Those trades alone just make it seem like a moot point.

I'm not willing to rebuild again just to sell high. Unless we get a great offer, I would play out the season hopefully we make the playoffs and then get rid of Kahn. Maybe then Love changes his mind.

Wolves trade Love, Pekovic, Williams for Noah & Horford

Bulls trade Noah, bobcats and bulls picks for Love

Hawks trade Horford for Pekovic, Williams, bobcats and bulls picks

I actually like this one. Wolves get two starting big men for two starting big men and a guy we aren't giving minutes to anyway, Bulls get Love for a decent price, and have another scoring option while not losing boards (they are giving up defense in a big way though), and Hawks get a lottery pick (maybe two depending on how the Bulls do this year), a replacement for Horford, and a good, young prospect in Williams. Nice.

Thanks

Horford-Noah frontcourt makes me drools as a fan. Absolutely championship material.

What do you guys think about Love, Williams, and Amundson (or Lee) for Favors, Millsap, and Hayward + Picks from either side as needed?

Did Favors become good and I didn't hear about it.

What's the point for Utah? The are not contenders after this trade and Love just bolts in 2 years. Unless they know Millsap is not coming back so they get value while they can.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I don't want to trade Love for a big pile of role players.

We'd be betting on his potential for sure, but he's fairly good already 9.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, 18.8 PER in 22.8 mpg. The big question is if he can stay out of foul trouble (4.3 per 36) and if could maintain or improve upon his production in more minutes. Either way, he's not even 22, he's a plus defender, and he's a big time athlete who could look spectacular with a guy like Rubio passing to him. We'd also get Millsap and Hayward.
