How about the Wolves fire Kahn instead?

That's a good start. No more asking your star player to sign a contract extension in the locker room after a loss

There's no point speculating yet, Love's not going anywhere this season. Unless he starts sending Taylor and Kahn hate mail.

Love for Bucks players of your choice. We'll even throw in our GM so you can fire Kahn.

First it's better to try and fix this situation with him... But then, if he has this attitude it's better for him to go.. we could really sell him so high.. I wouldn't mind having some athletes in the frontcourt, since we have all this passing ability and vision with Shved and Rubio.. Let's see.. For sure Love si considered in the elite right now..

If the NBA is a business then it's a business for everybody.

Maybe Love thinks Taylor is only thinking about sell the team for a good price. The fact is the current roster could have only 4 or 5 players with contract at the end of the next season. This seems the perfect scenario for sell a team.

sorry no. Wouldn't trade love unless we were getting Rose, Lebron, etc.

I think Love would bring back much more.

shrink wrote:Since I've been saying this all day about other teams, I guess I should repeat it here.

After MIA got it's Big Three, the need for every team to aquire superstars became huge. Superstars determine championships in the NBA, and if your team has zero or one, your chances of winning a ring against a team with three - in a seven game series, is virtually non-existant. The league has become a group of "haves" and "have nots."

For the 25 or so teams that are not destinations, it's going to be very difficult to get a vet superstar to join your team. It helps if you already have one and/or are close to winning rings, which adds to the value of owning a superstar .. it might help you get another. So if you're just one of several teams offering a max deal, how do you get one?

Well, maybe you can get one with a top lottery pick. These are always risks, and we often see #1 and #2 overall picks never come close to superstardom. The only guaranteed way to get one is to trade for one.

1. Love has value because he is a legit superstar.
2. He also has value because he can be traded.
3. He has further value because he has years on his contract - he can't threaten to walk at the end of this season to direct where he's traded.
4. Love also has value because teams almost never willingly trade their own superstars, so with his rarity, almost everyone is going to make a trade offer.
5. The price will be even higher because there will be an auction, and highest bid wins.

Is Love going to be available for trade? Well, Woj is the guy that announced that Rubio would never wear a Wolves uniform, and he's never liked Kahn over some apparent slight years ago. However, if this is legit, MIN may put their franchise player up for grabs, and the offer that wins it will be huge. I think he's more valuable than most team's best piece, so I expect that a winning bid would contain that piece.

Don't think about the packages that were sign-and-trades, or players in their last years that would only give you one shot at a title. The package should be better than Harden, Melo, or Dwight. Last guy that was close would be Deron Williams.

Raise your hand if you want to go through yet another rebuild with Kahn as your GM.

It's not like this team is doomed without Love.. Actually this season we r playing team basketball for real.. We have talent, and a system. Love always put on incredible stats , that didn't translate into wins.. I think with this system in place we could even win without Love, but with a more athletic and better defender at the PF.

Yes, we can. Love's production is overrated.

Somehow you've got to include Brewer if we're putting the band back together.

Brewer is available via FA. Denver is loaded with wings. I think Brewer could be signed with part of MLE.

Should have traded Love for the #2 pick and snagged MKG imo.

Kahn would've picked Austin Rivers.

No, he would have taken Drummond. He like it long and athletic. Remember?

Overrated isn't a real definitive term. We've always been with Love on the floor than without him.

Who said anything about a rebuild? Rubio was arguably better than Love last year and he was a rookie, just because there is a rookie on the team doesn't mean it's a new rebuild. I think MKG would have a bigger impact on team success than Love currently does by next year if not immediately.
