Blazer @ Wolves

Post#1 » by theGreatRC » Sat Jan 5, 2013 5:23 pm

The Wolves gamethreads don't deserve pictures until we seriously get in the playoff hunt..not this "8th seed by a percentage point" BS.

I know many aren't going to watch this game due to the Vikings, probably keep an eye on the score, but we can win this game and put us 2 games above .500 before Atlanta comes to town.

The Timberwolves (15-14) have dropped 18 of the last 20 meetings with the Trail Blazers, while going 2-11 with Love, who is averaging 17.8 points and 10.7 rebounds.
That trend continued Nov. 23, when Love had 24 points and 13 boards in a 103-95 loss at Portland. He had 29 and 16 to spur a 106-94 victory in the most recent home meeting March 7, ending Minnesota's eight-game slide there in the series.

IMO, the key to winning is containing their back court and if Rubio is back, he is our best defender and can stick with Lillard (BTW, I love him as a player and his game..he's the only Blazer I like.)

Anyway -- Love and Rubio aren't on the injury list. So they're most likely game time decisions. Will keep this thread updated with their status unless someone gets to it first.

No Rubio, no Love tonight vs blazers

This could be the beginning of a really bad situation if Rubio doesn't come back soon. I'm not sure how much I buy into the "back spasms" line.

Love being out doesn't surprise me. That hand will take a week or so to get better at least. A shame, because he was looking decent in parts of the Denver game before he went out.

EDIT:

Jon Krawczynski ‏@APkrawczynski

Rubio doing a hard workout on the court with Terry Porter after shootaround so there doesn't appear to be reason to think back is serious

This helps my piece of mind.

Letting people know they can stay home for the Vikings game and not feel bad.

We lose our pick if we tank, don't we?

We'll lose a lot more than a pick. Tanking this season is a really stupid idea.

At this point neither Rubio or Love are close to 100% so I don't see it as being that detrimental tonight. It's not like they team isn't use to this.

No. That was last year. Only way we have no pick is if we're in the playoffs and Memphis isn't.

The only good thing I can think of is that we have played better without Love and we're used to playing without Rubio and we are still a +.500 team, so i'm not TOO worried, but the Blazers have been playing well as of late, with quality wins against Spurs, Nuggets, Knicks and Grizzlies last night..

They're on the tail end of a back-to-back and they are 6-11 on the road.

Just what Love needs, more ****ing time missed, more missed practices and missed games, how is he going to get back into his groove when he keeps missing time. He has to keep playing, and he needs to stop getting hurt so frequently.

Sucks that this game is on at the same time as the Vikes because Im for sure going to watch them instead except on commercials.

I predict: shortest game thread in three years.

the problem is that Love obviously does no conditioning when his hand is hurt - has yet to get into game shape. You's swear its a leg injury thats keeping him from running and conditioning. He needs to stop worrying about his hand and start worrying about his fat body
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

At least now I don't have to bother tuning in and can go straight to watching the Vikings.

This is going to be ugly. But we're a better team without Kevin Love so

Love re-fractured his hand..... Why?

Kent Youngblood ‏@BloodStrib

Love re-fractured his third metacarpal in his right hand. Headed to see a specialist in New York. Will know prognosis then.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.
