Adelman is a great coach and he knows exactly how a coach is to respond to that. However I wonder if we could get for a Kevin Love if there is any coach more apt to turn pieces into wins. I like this guy a lot and I think we need to give him more depth to work with. Adelman needs players.

Love was one of the main reasons Adelman came here. I don't think it would sit too well with him to trade Love. Kahn definitely needs to get another player here though.

It wouldn't make sense to trade Love right now anyway. His value must be the lowest since his rookie season.

Last time, Love fracutred his third and fourth metacarpal.

I did some quick googling (Which automatically makes me an expert on the subject and i'm a qualified hand specialist, obviously) and I came across this:

These fractures must heal properly to maintain good hand mechanics. This is especially true of the second and third metacarpals (index and middle finger), which act as anchors for the others.

So the third and second metacarpals are basically what holds the hand together for smooth mechanics.

Any way Love tapes his middle finger to his index finger and wears that protective cast and still plays? Obviously he wouldn't be able to shoot 3s that much, but it keeps him in shape and he can still grab boards and be a hustle player.

I think you answered your own question.

He should be taking the full 8 weeks to heal this time.

Just watched that today.

Has anyone else noticed the Randy Quaid look alike ticket checker at Target Center? Looks exactly like him from this movie.

Teams will look past his poor play this season, because they know he's been struggling with injury and could be back to his best for the second half of the season. He would still have a hell of a lot of value around the league. Not that I think we should trade him.

However, I wasn't thinking only of the Thunder game. There were several games against good teams we were playing well against at, despite abysmal performances by Love. Look, I'm not hating on Love or anything but I don't think there's a reason to hit the panic button, yet (emphasis on YET).

It's good to be optimistic but this roster is depleted. This 18 and 14 Love is still a difference maker. Not having him for the next 6 weeks against a tough schedule is disastrous

Yea it's 18 but it is on very bad efficiency. He needed 16.6 FGA and 7.9 FTA to get there.

Just compare this season numbers with his last few seasons.

It's true and I'm aware of that but considering our overall state of health I'm sure other teams will pretty much lowball us knowing that we're kinda forced to make trades. It isn't just about a potential Love trade.

That puts his return at about 20 games left in the season, at the earliest. In that two week window we play 9 games.

Hopefully we can get the 8th seed and Love can get himself into shape in the mean time.

Darren Wolfson ‏@DarrenWolfson

According to Y! Sports, it's surgery for K. Love. They hear 8-10 weeks. I reported last night 12 weeks. Lost season, nonetheless. #twolves

At 12 weeks, we'd have 6 games left

Doogie tends to lean toward the dramatic when it comes to his reporting. Whatever is most shocking, he'll go with it. My guess is, 10 weeks it will be.

How dare Doogie falsely speculate 12 weeks! If he was a true journalist he would have talked to the training staff first and got the correct amount of weeks!!

Redick to the rescue.

I think the last couple games have shown this team can still compete with Dante and Derrick at the four if guys are hitting their shots. Rubio looks like he's getting back in shape as well. Just need a consistent shooter.

How to get Redick without Derrick?

I think if we're keeping Derrick we're going to have to take on a bad contract - i.e. Gordon, Salmons, Rip, in order to upgrade that position -- unless we throwing multiple firsts in. And with Love out for the year is the season to go all in? I think we keep our assets -- DWill, 1sts, cap flexibility -- wait for Budinger to get back and see if this team can sneak into the playoffs.
