He would probably come after Hayward's 10-day deal is up, which I believe is Thursday

Our savior!!!!

Bur seriously, let's hope he adjusts to the NBA 3pt line quickly. Anyone know much about his defense?

For people who don't know Gelabale at all, here is a post I made on the other thread that gives some indications.
As I'm French I saw some of his games in the last 3 years, and it seems that he is in the best shape of his career and playing great basketball recently, especially in Euroleague.

Bittertown wrote:Without his injury he could have developped into a player like Batum is today.

Gelabale has solid defense, can play the passing lanes well, and is efficient against athletic players. On offense he sure can hit open J's and run on the fastbreak.

He won the MVP in the French league in 2010 (13.8pts & 4.6 rebounds).

This year he played really well in the Euroleague with Cedevita (Croatian ballclub) before signing with Valencia a few weeks ago. His stats in 10 games of Euroleague (15.0pts - 60%FG 42%3FG 92%FT - 4.9 rebds - 1.3 assists).

He's clearly the Frenchman we wanted all along. Not Batum, not Pietrus, GELABALE!

Solid. He really tries, and is quite strong to get steals or blocks. Decent lateral quickness and won't get posted up. Good defensive rebounder.

The flaws are more on the offense. His strengths are the fastbreak, he runs the floor really well, and the open jumpers that he hits at an above average rate. Weaknesses are creating with the ball in the half-court offense (but moves well in this offense without the ball), ball-handling. But what's important is that he knows his limits, and won't try to do too much. He is an intelligent player.

As I said in my previous quote, without his injury and with 8+years in the NBA he could have looked like someone like Batum.

Picture the mix in your head. I'm too lazy to look for an image editing program.

Thanks. Looking forward to seeing him get some minutes!

Don't worry with Gelabale, you'll be happy with him I'm sure. Smart player team driven who doesn't force things or take bad shots. He's an accomplished player in Euroleague with a good pedigree. He managed to change his game quite well after all those injuries he suffered. One of my favorites french players. Hope he can stick with this team because it's a perfect fit. I really think he's an Adelman type player.
