And I don't exactly understand what PPP is. Points per possesion, I know, but what represents a possession for an individual player.

• PPP – Points Per Play. A “Play” is always ended with a shot attempt, turnover or getting to the free throw line. PPP is the player’s total points, excluding technical free throws, divided by their total plays.

Offense – Plays

How we select the player - Synergy tracks the final play “type” in every offensive possession of the game. We always log the player responsible for the ending action which can be a shot attempt, turnover or drawing a foul that results in free throws.

All Other Plays – This category includes any offensive plays that do not fit into any of the main play types. This category includes things like last second heaves from the back court and when a player is intentionally fouled and sent to the free throw line.

Defense - Plays

How we select the player - Synergy tracks the initial on ball defender for many playtypes. For example, an offensive player is in Isolation and blows by his defender (player A) and gets to the rim. A help defender (player B) rotates over to try and contest the shot. We attribute the defensive play to Player A, as he was the person was initially beaten on the play.

What happened to the other play types? - We do not attach an individual defender on offensive rebounds, cuts or transition plays as these are team defense concepts and fault/credit usually cannot be attributed to one person.

Darren Wolfson ‏@DarrenWolfson

Per Kahn, if #Twolves miss the playoffs & Mem. makes it, the Mem. pick will NOT go to PHX this year (h/t @joshvanklomp for initial inquiry).

Time to start hoping for Memphis losses as well now. Would be nice to get something like the 5th and 19th pick or something. Shabazz and Gobert. Lots of potential there.

If we trade our pick for DeRozan or Affalo, I am going to throw my chair at someone. I don't really watch college hoops, but just going off websites and draft previews, it seems this draft is deeper than most think. For example, Archie Goodwin, Alex Len, Cauley-Stien should all be within our range. The more I read about Len, the more I really like him and hope he falls to us. Lots of website also compare Goodwin to Tyreke Evans in terms of athleticism...please please PLEASE do not trade our pick for some mediocre starting veteran!

DeRozan and Afflalo average the same FG%, Afflalo averages 16.8 PPG, whole DeRozan averages 17.4. Afflalo is mostly shooting jumpers averaging 39.6% from 3PT, while DeRozan is averaging 29.1% for 3PT. Afflalo is a better 3 point shooter, and we need that more than a guy who can drive. Afflalo is also a great defender.

If we fall out of the top 5-6 picks, how do people feel about trading it for Jeremy Lamb? Everyone around here was infatuated with him at this point last year.

Unless OKC love somebody in the draft, why would they trade the guy who they are preparing to play bigger role in the near future?

Doogie got Klomped!

I just kept asking him based on a couple Suns links I found. Finally he said he would double-check with the team.

I'd do it. Not sure where the Thunder stand with him. I'd assume they will re-sign Martin and Lamb won't ever get to develop. Thunder could use a C and this draft has them. Depending on how the Raptors finish the year, the Thunder could get their C while they keep Lamb.

If I were the Thunder, I would attach Perkins to get someone like Pek or Gortat.

Being that Lamb can't get a sniff of playing time, and OKC is a win-now team, they might think that asset is better used at a different position, most notably center.

I might do it, but it is somewhat odd that the Thunders aren't even bringing him up from their D-League. Maybe Lamb isn't all he's hyped up to be. Attach PJ3 too and I'll say yes.

I wouldn't worry too much about Lamb being in the D-League. Teams are finally starting to embrace sending players there that they don't have a place for... I'd be more more worried about his future if he were sitting on the bench 40-45 minutes a night.

And of course it happens in a weak draft.
