Lots of opportunity to make a low risk move that could really help us at SG - though Brewer is not that guy. So much depends on DW ... he has been improving and that could help spring a bigger deal, but the way it looks now, we will wait for summaer and bank that he stays the course withour fall-back..

I expect we will move JJB or Ridnour for a SG ... Kahn and Adelman will be pretty meticulous about getting value in this single move. Reddick or ET would take DW and I dont think we are willing to pull that trigger yet.

Shumpert would be nice, especially next year when he's fully healthy. That would be a very good defensive back-court.

Our biggest problem has been shooting. I see little to no chance of us acquiring Ronnie Brewer. I wouldn't think Novak will be available, and it seems like Reddick's value has risen to the point where it might take some real assets to get him, and I'm not sure we are willing to do that for an impending FA.

My guess is no deals as well.

You don't have to be disappointed by that. There's no real incentive for us to be dealing at the deadline, the offseason is the time for us to regroup.

We won't get anyone, and even if we do, it won't be anyone of importance. Typical.

Darren Wolfson ‏@DarrenWolfson
@HunterPlante1 Heard from 1 contact that as of Saturday it was quiet. At this point, GMs wait until the last day to make their best offers.

one could argue ts never too early to solidify the team's foundation, chemistry and start building confidence and that those qualities are as important or more-so than roster talent
ie Spurs' record vs the Lakers' record

Wanna hear something that's funny but sad and frustrating at the same time? I would be THRILLED if we could somehow get Corey Brewer or Randy Foye.

Crazy how things work out sometimes.

That's the kind of stuff I think we need to avoid at the deadline. If we can find a legitimate piece, then we shouldn't hesitate but we don't need to add a SG just to upgrade the position when the season's already over.

You don't think Foye would be a nice spark off the bench for this team? He would immediately be the team's best shooter (with Love still out).

Of course, Idk his contract situation.

My post was more or less a shot at how we drafted those 2 players and they sucked for us, but now they've improved and I wouldn't mind having them back.

Raja Bell and a 2nd rounder.

ridnour's worth more, but I don't have much faith that Kahn will do better on this one. It seems like he sees the downside of our contracts more than he considers the upside that the player would have on the other team.

I'm not really sure they've improved that much. They just aren't expected to do as much as we expected them to do.

They haven't really improved. It's just that McHale's busts >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kahn's busts.

Good point. Not expecting Brewer to be a more athletic Bruce Bowen and Foye to be a franchise cornerstone is where they're at now. With Shved on board, we wouldnt even be looking at them as starters. But I would rather have them then guys playing out of position. Injuries have made our junk look like treasure to a degree.

You know you regret this post LOL! Foye, maybe...but Brewer? Haha the guy still can't shoot and plays out of control. I don't want him near this team. Foye would be a very nice asset coming off the bench.
