While I'm glad he wasn't dealt until now because it would have meant too many minutes for Dante most likely, or someone else having to fill the minutes at the four. On the other hand, either him or Love will have to be dealt sooner or later if Williams keeps improving like he has been. It's just too much value to miss out on.

Not sure whom I'd rather trade, though. There's plenty of reasons to trade Love but he's also the much better player. Either way, though, if Williams keeps improving we should be able to fill out our roster in the off-season nicely.

yeah i was very happy we kept him. he's been growing a lot lately, especially in being able to make a mid range j instead of forcing the issue on a bad drive.

I just can't get my hopes up with D-Will unless he transforms himself into our SF of the future. He plays behind our best player who - despite the storm in a tea cup earlier in the season - isn't going anywhere any time soon. I can't help but think we'll see Williams go back to his sporadic bench role when Love gets back and we'll send him away cheaply in the off-season.

It was right to hang on to him. The mid-range jumper has caught my eye as well. He is making strides, but still little things like passing and weak-side defense are mediocre at best. If he can adevelop an additional skill each season he might be pretty dang good in his prime NBA years. until then he's going to be gangled for a SG

next step is to develop some solid iso offense w/ the dribble facing up or else back to the basket

I think he just can't get decent minutes. AK will always take minutes at SF and Love will always take minutes at PF.

Budd and Dante are perfect bench players, the amount of minutes they get next to Love and AK are ideal for their quality and for their salaries (Budd will not get a big contract because of the injury).

It's sad that DWill can play on the 2 positions that are best covered on our team.

Also, we will probably get Mozgov-like C in the offseason so C position will also be filled and not give us rotational flexibility (which would enable moving Love on C while DWill playing PF or smth). I will add that the only way I see DWill staying is if we let Pek go, so that Love could be moved at C(like Rick did in beginning of last season) so that DWill can play PF, but I don't think Pek will be moved.

I say rest AK, Pek and Love a lot this season while giving DWill time to raise his value, and then trade him in the offseason for a SG starter, and then Shved can play the 6th man role.

Better to keep him than trade him for total garbage. The window to trade him for something good has long passed. Now if by some chance he breaks out we can reopen that window, or trade Love and keep D-Will.

That's about the size of it. He's a PF, dreaming he'll become a SF isn't in the cards I think.

I always wanted to trade him b/c I lost hope in his potential and didn't see any hope of bringing back both AK and Pek w/ Williams on the payroll, both of whom I consider vastly more important to the team.
