I love how they aren't just letting him be a power forward while Love's out. He's no longer driving to the basket when he has an easy jump shot. That's going to be his game, and if so we have a solid SF. As long as he doesn't regress out of it and go back to his old ways. He's not a PF, he's a terrible PF. He doesn't finish well, he doesn't have a post game, he can't guard other power forwards. I always thought he'd develop into a good PF and that SF would never work, but I'm beginning to believe the opposite. That said, if we want a SG in the offseason, he's going to have to be a part of that trade.

His main issue has been consistency and he's becoming more consistent, it's a no brainer to keep him in my opinion, in fact I'd say the Wolves future is mostly dependent on D-Will living up to his draft status which I think is likely at this point.

I think next year will be the make or break year. Look at how Larry Sanders has turned into a great defender after looking like crap his 1st 2 years...Hopefully something will just click with D-will.

D-Will looks so great these past 6-7 games. He's so confident.

He's been great. Hopefully we can get something decent for him in the offseason, because he's got no future here with a healthy Love (and Adelman).

We should have dealt him on draft day before he ever wore an NBA uniform IMO

His value will probably be at its highest this offseason. With Love and Rubio finally healthy together (crossing my fingers), a high draft pick (crossing my fingers) we may have some chips to play

Kahn will do something like trading our pick + dwill + ridnour for caron butler or something.

I'm hopeful Kahn won't be at the controls but who knows. Adelman might not be the coach either. His professional and personal life seemed to have collapsed on him this season. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he decided to retire.

Kahn has been strong on trades and signing free agent talent (some hit some miss....but some hit).
Kahn has been weak on drafting
Trading that pick is not what scares me. Take out Butler and put in E. gordon and R Lopez and that is the type of trade Kahn pulls off.

If we get a top 5 pick in the draft and can pick one of the SG's then we dont really have to trade derrick. hes been improving almost every game.

If he's improving this quickly now how will he look with another offseason of practice?

If he could play with Kluv and Pek that would be nuts.

End of the day, this was the right call. His value is going nowhere but up. 21 year old forward who is currently averaging 18 and 8 to finish the season with decent shooting percentages and the ability to hit the three, that's a nice asset. Rebuilding teams should be able to look at that and say, "We could use that." Williams in a few years has as chance to be a 20 and 10 player. Let me remind you that there are no 20 and 10 players in the league this season. Put him on an up tempo team and who knows what numbers he may be capable of.

As long as he keeps this up it will strengthen our position this summer. If he works hard to improve him game over the summer and we cant do a draft day or summer deal, he might look even better by this time next year at the break. I'd bank on finding a deal this summer though. Worse case scenario is that Love leaves and we keep him and hope he continues to grow.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.
