Burke's numbers are actually pretty bad right now, but it's still early.

February is being horrible for him. He is playing with some minor injuries and seems to be hitting the wall. His shot is not working well now but it is very probable that will end falling because he is supposed to be great at that.

His freethrows are over 90% (very good sign), he has good playmaking skills, keeps the turnovers low at his age... His ability to adapt to defensive schemes is what will determine how succesfull he will be. In any case, I would say it is clear that he is in the league to stay. He already has one game with 30 poits and 6 with 20 or more. Jazz are now like a perfect environment for him, yes, but still... I think his NBA career looks good

Imagine if we finished with the 7th or 8th worst record and not a sole thinks we'll move up in the draft as usual, then BAM we move up and get a top three pick to make up for all those years of not moving up and we get one of Parker/Wiggins/Embiid to take us to the playoffs with a new coach and a happy, re-signed Love... This should go in the positivity thread.

In that case i see us taking Wiggins as best fit and the realise Wiggins is just hype and can't be more than an average starter in the league (after 3 years of developement).

We should lose any hope with this team drafting skills... we had Burke, we all knew he had a bright future and was worth a top 5 pick last year. We had him, we all were happy, and we traded for the obvius bust.

Burke aint THAT good brah. Not good enough to lose sleep over. Lets not get carried away here.

Depressing stat of the day. Utah is 18-22 since Burke debuted. The Wolves are also 18-22 during that time.

I've been a Wolves fan too long to go into a season confident. lol

I'm lucky I only became a fan during Garnett's second year in the league.

I started being a fan when they drafted Marbury from GT. Wolves history seems to suggest an ability to draft a superstar every decade or so but the inability to build a champion around them. Hopefully this trend can change with keeping Love and building a contender around him.

I hereby announce that the Timberwolves will fail to win 38 games this season. In short, 37-45.

Save that for a thread in the Bucks tab.

Four games left, and we are down to four posters who are still in the running of predicting our season record:

Gideon: 43-39 (need to finish 4-0)
The J Rocka: 43-39 (need to finish 4-0)
southern wolf: 42-40 (need to finish 3-1)
Krapinsky: 41-41 (need to finish 2-2)

Full predictions for all four:
southern wolf wrote:1. 42-40

2. Miss the playoffs in frustratingly close fashion

3. Biggest surprise player - Big bad Ronny Turiaf

4. Biggest disappointment - Pek (because of missed games)

I think we've got the talent to sneak into the playoffs, I'm just worried about our ability to stay healthy after last season. Wouldn't be surprised if Pek only played 60 games and Rubio and some of our younger pups may tire nearing the end of the season which could cost us dearly.

Krapinsky wrote:41-41

No : (

Brewer

Shved

The J Rocka wrote:43/39

No - 9th seed

Martin

Shved

Gideon wrote:1. 43-39

2. No (but close)

3. Rubio becomes a top-tier PG and all-star, and Martin is a great fit at SG, averaging about 20 ppg on over .600 TS%. Dieng also plays very well as a back-up center as the season progresses.

4. Love isn't REALLY a disappointment, but his stats drop considerably from what many expect, now that the rest of the team is better... look for something more like 21-11-3. Actual disappointments: Shabazz and D-Will

I think Krap might have this. After a season like this it would have to end at .500.

With a win tonight, we will finish with the 8th-most wins in franchise history (T-8 in percentage). A loss would drop us to a tie for 9th.

They proved that everytime, they are destined to win a game, they lose it instead.
