How good is the upgraded Target Center going to be?

Post#1 » by Minnesota Power » Mon Dec 16, 2013 3:41 pm

Once the Target Center is renovated, where is it going to rank among the other 28 NBA arenas (Remember, the Clippers and the Lakers share an arena, so there is 29 arenas and NOT 30)

Right now, the current Target Center is near the bottom along with Sacramento (which is getting a new one) and Milwaukee (which may be getting a new one or relocating)
Do you think it will be in the top 10 best NBA arenas? Why or why not?
I want to move back to Minnesota, I miss it sooooo much!

It's going to be #1 because I said so.

I know I'm Optimist Prime around these parts, but I think its going to be a definite plus. Target Center is probably a bottom-five arena right now. It is the sixth-oldest arena in the league, and hasn't really gotten many updates since it opened.

I think Target center has a nicer court than most.

How do we rank arenas?
Seriously, they all have vastly overpriced food and drink for sale, and expensive parking. So by that metric they all suck, and many suck more than ours does at the moment. I suppose it may look better on the outside, not that it matters much...

I like the court, too.

And, yeah, I can't honestly rank arenas because I haven't been to 95% of them.

Not sure if that matters anything in the grand scheme of things but I think it's a plus for the Target Center to be right in the city center.

As a TV viewer, I gotta say that I like the look of the TC, too. Both the court and how the seats are arranged. Never heard anything about bad seats, either.

Helps that it was built to be a basketball arena. So many NBA arenas double as hockey arenas as well.

In fact, 10 of 29 NBA arenas are shared with NHL teams. By my count, only three NBA/NHL metro areas have separate arenas for both: Phoenix, Detroit, and Minneapolis/St Paul.

I can't stand the court. Hate the two-tone look, but I've always loved our logos.

I'm with you on the two tone look. It makes the arena look amateurish for some reason.

I agree. The outer part is way too dark. I like a lot of the two tone courts around the league, but those ones are much more subtle than the Wolves court.

Source? That isnt funny, lots of fans like myself want to keep this Team in this market forever. Hopefully Silver thinks highly of it or is Atleast somewhat satisfied.

are we fretting over the team leaving in 20X5 still? You do realize Adam Silver is just a cyborg body, currently puppet'ed by Kevin Clash, and when David Stern dies he's transferring his consciousness into the shell. David Stern still approves!

Money spent puts more people in the seats, thus putting more money in the pocket. I'm sure Wolves fans would love to have us spending more money on players and could care less what the arena looks like. A court is a court.
