A lot of people on the Celtics board are split between KO and Sully as far as who's got the better potential cause KO came on in the second half of the season after being hindered by that ankle injury in the first half of the season. So i must admit, the sexier name is Sully obviously, because in revisionist history if the draft was done all over again from 2012, Sully would have been a top 5 pick easily but his back injury was the reason everyone passed on him. That's totally behin him now, KO has PG skills and is able to run well since he was a PG in highschool and then grew some obsurd height in his senior year in highschool ( something along those lines) So he's a 7 footer who can shoot from the outside and can run the lanes and finish. He has great hands for a big which is a rarity in the league. He doesn't drop quick passes and lays it in from all angles. Id give up one of those guys, the 6th pick, next years clippers 1st rounder and filler(which is almost all non guranuteed or is coming off the books next year for KLOVE as long as he's willing to resign with us

Wow, but makes sense. Ainge is known for not shying away from bigger moves and bigger risks (which is something I really like about this guy).

So looks like it all comes down to whether or not Cleveland is willing to trade their top pick for love even without love agreeing to an extension prior to the trade (and I don't think they would pull the trigger withoutany kind of commitment, but you'll never know  ).
#6, Sully, Green or sthg. along the lines looks like a good fallback option if you ask me.

Thanks for the clarification.

So there's that obstacle lol.

He would or he wouldn't?

He would.

When flat out asked if he thinks he could convince a player to stay in 1 season, he just said "yes."

And that's the thing the guys saying "love has to go to a contender so take our crappy offer" don't understand. It's really not up to love, it's up to flip and another GM willing to take the shot.

On the flipside, it's entirely possible that Love is okay going to a franchise he deems as a winner, even if they won't go for a title year one. He may feel better about signing long term going to somewhere like Boston because they're a big market and he has more faith in them bringing in the guys they would need to put it together.

Parker or Wiggins are where its at.

After the lottery, the Cavs, 76ers and possibly the Magic make the most sense as trade partners.

Forget lesser 2014 picks, future assets and so so young players.

Boston and LA are probably picking too low to have a shot.

Orlando could offer 4/12 for Love and still have a nice roster.

Nelson
Oladipo/AA/Lamb
Harris/Harkless
Love/Nicholson

The top 2 Love trades that make sense imo for both teams are:

1. Hou - Love for Parsons, T.Jones, Asik.
2. GS - Love for Lee, Barnes, and either Green OR a future 1st rd pick.

The beauty about the HOU trade is that it gives us a better Rim protector than Pek in Asik and Asik is cheaper. Also it would then allow us to Trade Pek to a team to upgrade the bench.

After the HOU trade, I would trade Pek to NOH for Ryan Anderson and a future lottery pick and then trade Barea for anything.

OR

Trade Pek and JJ to CLE for CJ Miles, Jarrett Jack, Anthony Bennett, and a future 1st rd pick. That would upgrade our bench PG and SG position and give us a 2 young pieces for the future in Bennett and the future 1st rd pick.

So our team would look like this after the 2 trades:

Rubio, FA, rookie
Kmart, Bud
Parsons, Brewer, Shabazz,
T.Jones, Ryan Anderson, FA or Rookie
Asik, Turiaf, Dieng

OR with the CLE trade instead of NOH....

Rubio, Jarrett Jack, FA or rookie
Kmart, CJ Miles, Bud
Parsons, Brewer, Shabazz, Bennett
T.Jones, Bennett, FA, Rookie
Asik, Turiaf, Dieng

Either team imo will win just as many games as the Wolves did this yr.

With the NOH trade, we would have to worry about filling the backup PG positions.

With the CLE trade, we would have to worry about filling the backup PF positions.

Plus we would be owed a future 1st with young players in Parsons, Jones, Dieng and Shabazz that should all get better.

Imo the Wolves will be in far better position for the NOW and the future by making either the HOU or GS trades.

Trading with other teams that bring back draft picks as the biggest value is TOO BIG of a GAMBLE for this team.

Flip hasn't proved anything yet that he can draft any better than McFail or Kahn. It's too big of a crap shoot to HOPE that you get future starters or All-Stars from those picks.

Don't Re-build, Re-Tool.

Both of those trades would be near the bottom of my list

Lottery Results - Love Trade

Post#68 » by Streakers33 » Thu Jun 5, 2014 12:04 pm

I'm actually liking a Philly trade better than Cleveland.

Number 3 and number ten. Straight up for love.

Vs

Number one over all and maybe one of their three picks next year.

Number one is a tricky spot to be in. Cuz what happens if we trade love and our pick flops. Target center gets burned to the ground. So safe trade be with philly. U get who left of top 3. And magic. May tempt u to get into top 3 with their 4/12 picks. Or AA and fourth pick for number 3. Cuz getting AA and exum and another pick for love doesn't scare me. Or give Utah 10 and 13 for five. And get a pf there for love. Who knows there. Highly unlikely. But So are most trades done on draft night. So scary dream time is u get AA, exum, and vonhel on draft night and then our only off season issues is moving JJ, and bud for a back up pf or paying gasol to mentor our team.

So we draft star power at 3. And round out draft with grabbing best available at 10 and 13. (Or best case leave with more). And I bet we have an under cap team that doesn't actually bottom out in west and stays where we are. And at ten and thirteen. A lot of teams will tempt to give up other assists to move up. We already got someone at 3. So if flip moves them to move down and gain more future picks, which is very possible this year teams get aggressive and give up next year to get into this year. We can all be wowed again. Maybe draft night starting last year should be called twolves win night!!

But why does Philly do it? To be the 6th seed in the east? Are players rushing to Philly to play with Love? There is no logical reason for the 76ers to trade for love and imo they shouldnt even be in the dicussion. Boston has Rondo. Love would go to a team whos best player is Thad Young.

I would throw everything at cleveland or everything at MIL depending on who is there at #2. What is the upside of the boston deal? It seems like a sure fire way to sit in the middle for another 5 yrs and that could mean giving a #13 to phx instead of two 2nd rounders.

The #1 and #2 could turn into franchise changing players. If they dont oh well some top 5 picks coming up, at least you rolled the dice and gave yourself a chance to get lucky.

Love/#13/#40/2018 1st

#1/Jack/Thompson

cleveland wont get a promise from love but that's a nice package. It would be tough to pass up.

Love would never agree to an extension with 76er's. That team is going to be ass for the next few years.

Celtics fans keep posting here.

But if you are not offering at least one of the brooklyn picks we could care less.
