OT: Any Aussie fans here?

Post#1 » by breatnach » Fri Jun 13, 2014 10:39 am

My job has relocated me to Sydney starting July 1st and was wondering if there happen to be any Sydneysider Wolves fans on the boards here?

Are there any pubs showing NBA games? Games probably start between 9 AM and noon AEST?

Got an Aussie here but unfortunately I'm not from Sydney so that doesn't really help haha.

Yeah games are usually 9am-noon. Down in Melbourne we have barely any pubs that show NBA (not that I know of anyway) so I wouldn't think that would be too different in Sydney. Our cable company (Foxtel) shows a little NBA, but it's mainly the glamour teams like the Lakers, Celtics or Miami, so even if you do find a pub that shows them it almost certainly won't be the Wolves.

I personally go with League Pass.

Haven't live in Australia for a couple years but two places I used to go in Sydney to watch the games were Cheers and PJ O'briens both in the CBD. It's more a of a backpacker crowd, but they show all the games.

NQ wolves fan checkin in.

Never seen a game at a pub, they MIGHT show the nba finals but nobody would be watching...

Fellow Aussie here,

my advice is to move from Sydney. Is the worst of our big cities.

Yes Sydney based. Finals you can watch in most bars around town given its about 10am tip off. Regular season we get only the limited espn twolves coverage so you'll need league pass. Are you working in the cbd?

Thanks for the answers! I think my office is based in Macquarie Park, in the northern half. But we also have offices in Melbourne and Brisbane, so I might see if I can get another transfer ;)

So League Pass it is, I guess...

Brisbane, Australia here. NBA League Pass, I think there is an offer now for group discount. I have paid for it for last 3 years and have been pretty happy with it. I also have Foxtel and I think there were 2 or 3 Wolves game broadcast all season, then Playoffs if they ever make it.
