Don't forget about Thad's possible opt-out.

no wonder Flip is so desperate to play up Budinger's value. With the pick they'll be over the cap and still need to find a backup PG.

Budinger & Young will opt out unless major injuries occur.
They may be able to move Martin if packaged with taking a flier on Bennett. Creating more than Max level cap space.

Why would Budinger opt out? I'm not trying to come at you, I just really don't get why he would do that. His play has been poor and even with a higher cap I don't think he would earn 5 million on the open market. Do you think he would seek out more years? I don't think he will find that either. So I'm just curious.
I believe Thad will opt out. Even though he might not get 9 million, with the calculated gamble he could see a raise. Either way, I could see him getting something like 38 for 4 (9, 9, 10, 10) even with how he has played. I could also see him opting in and waiting for that big salary cap jump in 2016-17.

I updated the first post with our current roster. Page is still a work in progress, but it's cleaner.

Re: Minnesota Timberwolves Cap Space Reference Chart
I wonder if flip is making the team options
On Bennet for 2016-2017. If he dont opt in, ab becomes an expiring. I think the guy can get better but his salary clearly dont help his situation. If Bjelly accept MLE money it could be a decisive factor.

I'd be surprised, but we won't hear about it for a while.

Thanks.
I added KAT and Tyus to the first post with their salaries at 120% of the rookie scale.

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/writer/ken-berger/25229735/sources-salary-cap-could-be-significantly-higher-than-projected
Teams have been operating on an estimated cap of $67.1 million for the 2015-16 season, but the National Basketball Players Association revealed at the annual agents' summit in Los Angeles this week that the actual cap is expected to come in at least $1 million higher, and perhaps as much as $2 million higher, two people familiar with the matter said. The official number won't be set until July 8, when league audits will be completed at the end of the league's moratorium period on free-agent signings.

Wyn, Canis, and the RealGM rookie scale index all agree, easy math
http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/info/rookie_scale
$4,753,000 x 1.2 = 5,703,600
$1,068,400 x 1.2 = 1,282,080
