Our second unit will be fine on offense this year, so we basically need the PF version of Turiaf to provide some defense and hustle .

There are plenty of other (better) choices. We don't have to fill the backup PF spot with a free agent.

After a Wiggins trade, we'll have Wiggins, Brewer, Martin, LaVine, Budinger, Mbah a Moute, Shved, and Shabazz on the wings, and only Young and Hummel at PF. It would make sense to move one (or two) of those wings to upgrade the backup PF spot.

Examples:

Brewer for Scola
Shabazz for Kyle O'Quinn

No doubt we could fill the back up PF position by trading one of our wing players. I was merely thinking of the remaining options via free agency. And to be honest, considering the remaining options, I'd rather take the trade route, too.

I wouldn't mind Scola on our team. He'd bring veteran toughness to the squad. Could also be a mentor for Gorgui with regards to developing a post game.

Between

Wiggins / C.Brewer / Hummel / Mbah / Bazz / GRIII (Not signed yet)
Lavine / K.Martin / / Budinger (Mo Williams can play here too)

At least 3 needs to get out.

Another name to consider with our potential cap space next season -- Draymond Green. Would be a nice to steal him from Golden State.

E'Twaun Moore is going to CHI. I bet he will revive his career as shooter and defender.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
