Wolves are ahead of the Lakers, as they should be.

Don't get me started on the number of shows that have taught me Americans are douche bags.

That's because we are in fact douche bags. Think about it: what are the douchiest shows on American TV? Reality TV shows. Reality. And have you ever read the comments on any news or sports story on an American website? 100% douche.

Jazz might be too low. Favors/Kanter/Gobert/Booker could be a monster foursome.

Yea, got my first look at them last night and they looked pretty good. I might have underestimated them. Burke looked really poised, I'm telling ya, those guys with that killer instinct will help you win a lot of close games. Still waiting for a day when we have a player with that kind of confidence.

I watched NBA TV's wolves preview. I didn't agree with a lot of their opinions. They talked about how we have all this point guard depth now and Rubio is expendable, they were pretty convinced Lavine could be a one easily. They said Lavine, Wiggins, and MARTIN, would be a nightmare for other teams defensively lol. Billups said he thinks we will be .500-ish, I guess he really believes in Flip Saunders.

All in all it wasn't too exciting. Neither person thought Wiggins would be rookie of the year though but everyone agreed he will be a beast and think the Cavs may regret the trade in a few years.

still kind of early, but if Mo Williams can maintain this preseason pace into the regular season, his 35.14 PER will be the best in NBA history beating out Wilt's 31.82 in 1962-63. Something to keep an eye on as the months go by.

I'm glad you could pick up on the accent. A lot of Americans seems to confuse the Aussie accent with New Zealanders and even Brits.

Lupus makes sure that he's well prepared. He's seen Crocodile Dundee 12 times, Crocodile Dundee Two 4 times, and Crocodile Dundee In Los Angeles 0.25 times.

And he's played Knifey Spooney before!

Just watched the video. I love these guys but my god the contradiction in Simmons is so annoying. "Stupid to trade the pick for Thad Young, I'd rather have the pick" then 2 minutes later, "They are too young , they need Veterans to show the young guys the ropes and how to be professionals". They get on us so much about having no veteran leadership where I think most would agree we have plenty in Mo, Kmart, Brewer, Thad, Ronny etc. Jalen is so wrong about Rubio and where we will finish - I'll be beyond shocked if the Lakers have a better record than us this year.

Last year's Blazers video
5.40 - Gushes over Thomas Robinson and makes all the excuses in the world for him yet is harsh on Bennett and ignores the fact the he was drafted by the wrong team and faces a mountain of hardships his first year. He is quoted as saying "i'm betting on pedigree, if your a top 7 pick I want you on my team".

I think the veteran presence part was the weakest argument. Now if you want to say a vet that has a ring and all you have is Brewer and Barea, then that's a different argument but not the one they made.

Yea, the vet stuff was really contradictory. Simmons constantly rips teams for not going full rebuild and keeping some older guys. Jalen brings it up and then they complain that there aren't enough vets when we got people like Turiaf, Williams, Martin, Young who are going to take the rookies under their wing. If they wanted to say that we don't have the most impressive vets, then that is something different.

The Rubio defense thing is kind of lame. I do think Rubio's defense is sometimes not what it needs to be but overall he's a good defender. I agree though that leadership wise, he's questionable. So far he isn't a put the team on his back guy you are confident in down the stretch but he has shown some aptitude in that, especially his rookie year. Maybe he lost that.

I actually agree with them on Wiggins more or less. I am no expert but Wiggins hasn't screamed "Can't miss prospect" to me yet. He looks really solid but when I see him play, I haven't seen anything out of him that makes me think he is a Lebron, Carmelo, Dwight, etc, generational franchise guy yet. I haven't see that out of Parker either but I have barely watched him at all so I can't judge. I wasn't very impressed with Wiggins when I saw him in summer league, I am more impressed now after watching him play more but still not sold. He could easily be a better Wes Johnson which isn't saying much. He could be a solid athletic, defensive rotation guy, I really question if he has the mental make up to be that franchise guy, I haven't seen any killer in him yet which is worrisome. There is just a different aura about those guys.

Us being better than the Lakers? I could see the Lakers being better than us. At least they have some real deal vets who know what it takes to win. Kobe alone could probably get them a handful of wins even at this stage of his career. We will have a really hard time getting our young chemistry right. I definitely feel like we are poised to be a bottom 5 team.
