Eh… no, he is not top10, no matter what.

All things considered, I wouldn't take any of those guys before Rubio to run my team.

Conley is way underrated. On my eyes, he is an ELITE PG.

Five-year extensions for first round picks are for max money only. Four-year extensions don't have that restriction.

First year of five-year deal would start at about $16.5m (25% of salary cap) with 7.5% raises. Meaning we'd be looking at paying him 95 mil over 5 years.

$16,575,000
$17,818,125
$19,061,250
$20,304,375
$21,547,500

For reference, the max another team could offer RFA Rubio next year would've been 4 years, 70.7 million.

$16,575,000
$17,320,875
$18,066,750
$18,812,625

Not true. It's 7.5% raises from the base year salary, not 7.5% raise year to year. So it wouldn't of been that high. But moot point

Can we confirm that this deal is 100% done? I thought that it was already set in stone that Rubio and his people were going to try to force their way to New York the first chance they got?

It bothers me that so many people have Irving above Rubio. Irving is a POOR passer/floor general for a PG, a good scorer, but one of the worst defensive guards in the NBA. He's a good fit offensively with LeBron on paper, but a no-D PG, below average D PF/SG, without a great help defender at C? He better be smart and play off LBJ because they'll need those points.

That's the number I used. So you're right, it is a moot point.

I like Conley, I loved the pick for the Grizzlies when they drafted him and I think he's a very good PG on both ends of the floor, as steady as they come (that was the case for the Buckeyes as well, and that's why I liked him) but the truth is at the end of the day he's never had that extra gear to take his team over the hump, neither from a scoring standpoint or as a floor general (you could actually argue that Marc Gasol has been their most important player distributing the ball the last three seasons, as most of their offense has revolved around him at the high post). He's very good, but I think Rubio's upside is bigger, his impact is deeper, and so I'd choose him for my team above Conley.

I don`t like to judge players in a vacuum, even more so if we talk about who is worth what, the situation matters alot. The question for me is if he`s a good fit for our current roster and the development of the young guys, and for me a guy that has same exp. ,hustles on d, is a willing passer, still can develop and etc. is just the guy for the team, so I`m ok with the 56 mil.

17 assists today. If he averages over 10 this year. There's no reason to doubt this contract.

it is fair.. no doubt about it.

I am spanish too, and of course he has improved in the last 5 years. His talent is the same (this is a born condition) so his passing is not gonna change but come on! his overall defense is much better now than 3 years ago and his influence on a game is huge!

He is not a scorer and we will never be but his shoot looks like much better and he will continue improving. Been the leader of the wolves his confidence will be higher and this is the key!

I cant believe that somebody prefers Dragic to run a team over RR. No way!

I can see people high on Dragic. He was probably a top 20 player overall last year, but this year he's off to a pretty slow start.

Without Rubio we are ORL & MIL type team: annoying, unorganized and chaotic basketball.

Taking in mind

1) recent contracts due scaling cap room

2)effectiveness on the court (rapm wise) and enjoyness of my eyes

3) low ego leadership and work ethic in sport and life

4) our current roster and caproom commitments for yeara to come

Im very happy with this numbers.

His passing hasn't really been in doubt, I guess. I don't think it makes that much of a difference to the casual Basketball/Wolves fan if Ricky averages 8.5 or 10 assists. People, and not just casual fans, want to see some reliant and steady scoring to justify that contract. Without improving as a scorer he's definitely not worth that much money. 10-11 million annually is the maximum. Fortunately, there's some light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to his shot.
