Timberwolves lease has been extended to 2035!

Post#1 » by Minnesota Power » Thu Mar 26, 2015 3:54 pm

Great news fellow Wolves fans! Hope you're all as excited as I am!

The revised deal also adds other provisions, including an agreement for the team’s lease to run until 2035 – three years longer than under the previous agreement.
I want to move back to Minnesota, I miss it sooooo much!

an article that says the city has to chip in an extra 74 million (IE us the taxpayers) not because they're putting in more stuff, but because **** and laborers are more expensive? More taxes to fund private business ventures to government contractors who can pretty much ask for a blank check and do the job in whatever timeframe they feel like because they have free reign?

color me excited for sure

I find it kind of amusing how these politically-funded projects always go. Someone goes to great lengths to get the most accurate costs for a project. It then goes to the politicians to vote on it, where the arbitrarily cut the funds by 33% because that number looks way better than the first number. Then, when it comes time to do the actual project, the costs invariably rise to an amount that is very close to the original estimate. Politicans then scramble, have another vote to raise the funding, and blame it on inflation. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Lol. The only time Cherry_Grape posts is when he's concerned about relocation. Good news guys, the fast approaching year of 2032 is no longer a worry.

Good. Anything that makes it harder to move is good news.

Funny how ya'll were laughing at me back in 2014/2015 when i was worried about this back when Taylor was talking of maybe selling, blowing me off and locking my threads. Now ya'll along with everyone over on Reddit are worried about A-Rod and some former Walmart executive (both of who got like no connections to Minnesota) worrying there going to move the team outside of Minnesota.

I find it so hilarious that you all along with the folks over on Reddit are asking the same exact questions that I was asking back in 2014/2015 such as how can Taylor prevent the team from relocating after he sells it? How Ironclad is the new owners "agreement" to keep the team in Minnesota going to be? What happens if Taylor has a hard time finding new owners that want to keep the team here? Whats going to happen when the Wolves want a new arena in 2032 or 2035 when the lease is up and the Target Center is well over 40 years old? (Even in 2014 it was one of the oldest arenas in the NBA. In 2032 it'll be a LOL ancient dinosaur) Is Minnesota going to publicly fund a new NBA arena in the 2030s?

I saw this coming 6-7 years ago. I completely predicted and foreshadowed it, and ya'll laughed at me. Maybe if people took me seriously we wouldn't be in this current predicament.
