Any chance we package one of Martin/Shabazz/Budinger for a top 12 pick?

Considering we don't know where we pick yet but my guess it has to be in the 1-3 range do you think we should package any of those mentioned above for another lottery pick?

I like the thought of having a Okafor/Jones or a Towns/WCS combo.

We for sure need at least a viable backup point guard and Jones can be that if (and eventually when) Rubio goes down or more defensive prowess and I think WCS can develop into a huge rim protector next to either of Okafor/Towns.

What do you guys think?

Agreed.

Most of this 'trade up for another lotto pick' talk is all coming from the fans.

If there was an outside chance of moving back into the 1st, it would be to package those 2-2nds + possibly Martin (if a guard is selected with our top 4 pick) but the pick that would be acquired would most likely be in the 20s and not in the lottery.

I think Flip would happily package Budinger and the two seconds for a top 12 pick. Can't see another team accepting that, but it might get them into the late first round.

Wolves want continuity if they get okafor I can see them going for Jones. If its Townes i see Jones, moving up for a devensive wing or keeping with the seconds rounders bps. If we select Russell then we look at bigs, BPA trade up or BPA 2nd rounders.

I really like Justin Anderson. Next Wesley mathews.

It would be nice to have another lotto pick but it would be even better to see more win's. Let's not get to carried away wanting us to trade the farm for a bunch of unproven rookies. I team starting rubio, lavine, wggins, wtcs, and townes\okafor looks nice on paper.(in terms of future) But they aren't winning anytime soon. And to much responsibility early on CAN hurt development.

It's true, chances of acquiring a second lotto pick are very slim. When it happens, it's usually for an established vet, which we don't have any worth a top ten pick.

Chances are we add our pick, which will probably be a big, and then pick up a vet PG in free agency and that'll be our team next season. I could also see us packaging our #2s for a late #1.

I still can't believe Kahn acquired the #5 for Foye and Miller. He was beyond horrible as a GM, but that was a great move.

Isn't there an identical thread to this still on the front page even?!

Shabazz is likely better than anyone we would get in the 8-12 range anyway.

Bazz and Wiggins are awesome together. Wouldn't want to do that and don't think Flip wants to continue getting younger. At some point you have to go to war with the army you have.

I could see us trying to get a late first to draft Jones or another back up PG. I don't think that means trading Bazz. Maybe Bjelica or Martin.

That would be a terrible trade for us..

I would consider moving up if we fail to land Okafor or Towns.

Not sure if we have enough pieces to get into the range of WCS and Porzingis, though.

We'd still have a top 4 pick and will probably end up with Porzingis if we fail to land Towns or Okafor.

Nah. If we fail to land Towns or Okafor it's Russell all the way for me. Porzingis is way too risky. :nonono:

I'm pretty sure if they did trade one of these three it would be in this order:

Bud
Martin
Bazz

I just don't see Bazz getting traded with his contract and what he showed when he was healthy last year. He is the most likely to be a part of the core going forward than Bud or Martin.

I don't think we should be looking to trade Bazz. Him and Wiggins are a really nice pairing. Budinger and Martin could maybe get us a pick in the 20's, mostly because of Martin. Can't see Bud having much value despite his nice run to end the season.
