T.Thompson or M.Morris ?

Post#1 » by Merc_Porto » Wed Aug 12, 2015 4:21 pm

We have a ton of below-average PFs,they (some) are young and talented but there are a lot of doubts about them.

And M.Morris and T.Thompson looks like they are available, Thompson took the QO and said that this is the last year he is going to play for the Cavs. He provaly is going to ask big money in free agency next year.
Morris request a trade but obviously he has some attitude issues to solve.

But they would be a uppgrade at PF for us... I think

Should we make a move for one of them ? Not worth it ?
And what you think is the cost ?

Neither. Thompson isn't worth the money he wants (max contract) and Morris isn't worth the headaches he brings.

If we had to, probably Morris. Spacing and defending the P&R are major issues for the Wolves.

Can we get either one without having to take their baggage?

The Morri are idiots, the slightly dumber one may do some jail time... no way.

TT? for the Max?

TT for MAX or close to MAX is crazy.
Morris + future 1st for Bennett + Payne is risky but i would probably do it.

Thompson would be a better fit, but it's not like his skillset is unique.

I believe that bulked up Payne will be better candidate for backup PF. Also I think we are okay with Bjelica at PF. Much better player than both Morris.

I think it makes more sense to be patient. See what we have in Bjelica, Payne, and Bennett and then use our cap space or draft pick to upgrade if necessary.

Between the two Thompson makes more sense as he is the ultimate role player. I agree the Max is too much for him but with the cap going up, a max contract this summer makes sense for how dominate he was in the playoffs. Morris, I would completely stay away from.

The power forward of the future is definitely not on this roster right now. Unless Towns plays PF which I think he shouldn't long term. I think there are a lot of intriguing big men in the next draft that could fill the 4 spot for us

If we want to start winning now I'd trade for morris. If all it took was Bennett and martin and got back Goodwin. With prince in the fold now we have enough depth youth and leadership that taking on morris would be low risk. Good contract, possible asset if he doesn't gel here.

Rubio. Miller
Bazz. Lavine
Wiggins. Prince/bjelicia
Garnet . Morris/bjelica
Towns. Dieng

With garnetts/prince low min and occasional games off there should be plenty minutes for everyone. With morris and prince rather than Bennett and martin you end up have a more even roster in terms of being able to score and defend.

I'd rather the Wolves try for Faried. He'd be a good fit with the team.

I'd be good with that. Hustle, defense, doesn't need plays called for him. Morris would be 100x easier to get because nuggets probably ask for 1 of our core.

Faried is actually pretty weak on the defensive end.

NBA is a Business. However, what the Suns did was unethical. From a business stand point because the Twins took less money to play together. Phoenix just said screw them over oh well.
People, FA's aren't going to play there because how the front office is run.
