Cap Room would almost certainly mean Pek.

Portland is $19 mil under the cap, so anything is pretty much open.

The only "major" pieces between us and the Blazers is Wiggins, Towns and Lillard. We know Wiggins and Towns are going nowhere. Just seems like a really odd rumor to me. The guy isn't even from Portland or Minnesota.

Would you guys do Nikola Pekovic for Mason Plumlee + draft pick?

Not really major on the Timberwolves part (basically a salary dump), but for Portland's side they're getting a quality center.

I'm curious on Pekovic's value on the trading market when you factor in his salary and ease of injury. The league is moving away from low post centers like Pek and toward athletic bigs that can catch lobs, block shots, grab offensive rebounds, and play smart defense. His contract doesn't match his impact on a team throughout 82 games.

I'd also think that if the Timberwolves would be interested with Plumlee that they'd run the trade idea by KG, so (hypothetically) if the trade were to go down you'd know the Wolves would be getting a valuable player back.

I'm all about finding a way to rid the team of Martin and Pek's contracts. Have enough veteran leadership now with KG, Miller and Prince. Easier said than done though

POR is under the cap and they are a good trade partner.
Pek + Bennett for Kaman i thought was the trade. It makes sense for both teams.
Martin is too valuable for our team to trade him.

Martin isn't a bad contract.

The Wolves can decline Bennett's option for 2016-2017, so he doesn't really affect Minnesota's cap space next off-season. The only player that the Wolves would want to move that impacts next year's cap space is Pek.

Martin isn't a bad contract.

With the current contracts being handed out Martin is starting to look like a steal. In addition, doesn't he have a player option for next year? If he has even an average year I would guess he'll opt out to get more money (and go to a contending team).
