I think Sam is making Bazz earn the spot by playing decent D, I doubt his plan is to let Prince start all season.

Bazz is getting a shot because lavine has been a waking disaster so far at sg. If lavine was halfway competent, then wiggs wouldnt have had to move to sf.

Bazz needs to up his defense if he wants to be the full time starter opposite Wiggins. His energy kinda makes up fit his lack of bbiq and his rebounding will help immensely in the starting unit.
