Rubio had a good start to this game but the coach sat him for quite a while there.

Coaches just love sitting Rubio for some reason...
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

That pace, that defense. That's what we've been missing (no rhyme intended).

That no. 4 seems like an OK player.

If I were on the team that misses the elimination round because of this, I'd be pretty pissed at this Lithuanian tank-job.

Yeah, great tank job nailing those 14 of 29 threes for Spain.

They could have gone 4 for 29 and would still be leading comfortably. Lit is playing with all the intensity of a snowcone.

thinking they were tanking is dumb. They were just beat up by a team that had backs to the wall.

But the thing is they haven't (gone 4 for 29), and once you are 20+ points down against a team playing this way you're obviously not gonna give your all. Spain was just making everything from the start, all kinds of shots from all over the floor, while playing good defense and moving the ball. Lithuania tried until the start of the third quarter. At that point Pau hit about 4 straight three-pointers, put Spain 20-something points ahead and they decided to quit, while we put in the subs. Now on to the next 'final', against Argentina.

You can find them on the official site of the Olympics (rio2016.com), but fiba.com is much more user friendly.

People were freaking out about Rubio, but I'm more concerned with Thibs right now. This defense Team USA plays is pathetic and he looks like he about to blow a gasket any minute. Seriously though, the team defense looks like a huge problem and you can't help, but wonder where is this Thibs dust that allegedly can turn anybody into a great defender? I mean players not only look lazy and undisciplined, they look unprepared too. Against known foreign players, who should've been scouted long ago. Sagging off Dellavedova, like he's gonna drive? Going under the screen against Teodosic? Not covering up for Kyrie on the perimeter, hell not covering up for anybody? USA looks poorly coached imo.

Team USA doesn't get a lot of practice time I wouldn't read too much into Thibs or any coaches coaching ability based off of these games.

keep in mind that among starting PGs, Rubio is top 3 defensively and Kyrie Irving is bottom 3

Rubio isn't going to get lit up by random nerds like Thomas Heurtel and Patty Mills. Hopefully I didn't just jinx him against Campazzo today.

At age 10, Michael Phelps was the 2nd best swimmer in his age bracket, behind Kris Humphries.

Not bad for a washed up team.

Ricky was instrumental again. Great defense, great job pushing the tempo and helping opening that 15-20 point lead that we've kept until the end.
