Iowa Pups!
Good news, wish we had them this year already for Tyus to dominate.

Cool. I hope they re-settle in Rochester. As it is I'll have to drive a ways to catch a D-League game.

Re: Minnesota G-League Talk (League rebranded)
I get it. I know some will (and already have started to) freak out about corporate sponsorship, but its really no different from NASCAR's main racing circuit or half of the PGA events.
It's not the most catchy name, but it will bring revenue into the league, which will help it further develop into a true minor league system for the NBA.

Re: Minnesota G-League Talk (League rebranded)
I'm not sure the "no different from NASCAR" defense is the best strategy. The naming of bowl games is probably a more apt comparison.
I don't generally like all the corporatism but in this case it doesn't bother me (other than it sounds dumb). The league needs to expand to 30 teams and it needs a cash influx.

It's getting there. We'll be up to 25 next season. Just 5 years ago, it was at just 16.

Re: Minnesota G-League Talk (League rebranded)
Any thoughts on a rebranding of the Iowa Energy? Do they stick with the name or change it to something more Wolves-centric? Maybe the green that we're looking at for the parent company's secondary color becomes a primary color for the team in Iowa?
The weird thing regarding that is the fact that the arena in Des Moines doesn't change courts. It's a generic court for its Wells Fargo sponsorship....meaning the colors are red and yellow. It'd be nice to get a matching court but not sure Wells would go for it.

It is. Obviously I prefer a simple abbreviation rather than some thrown in advertisement from Gatorade. oh well.
Though I really hated the d league name too. I mean it's like you're not the A team. You're the D team. the team that's almost failing.

Reminds me of this fail from a university in my state.

If they don't change the name to the Corn Dogs, I will be disappointed.

Nononononononono… nothing to do with corn!
This was almost the Iowa - Iowa state trophy. Until fans were like wtf? Oh but if that's not enough, we got a local baseball team in cedar rapids called the kernels.
knowing Iowa, we gotta remind everyone we can grow corn. As if you all forgot.

I like the new name. Relative to the old one, anyway. It's a G thang!

Let's send KAT, Wiggins and LaVine there and bring a championship trophy home next season. While the main team tanks for a top pick. The big 3 get championship experience and get to play with another top pick in 2018/2019. OMG, so many possibilities. It will pay off in the long run.
