Rubio is still young enough to be the PG of the present as well as the future.

I'd look into trading either tyus, Dunn, or bazz with our pick to get a starting caliber SF or pf.

Yeah, but the problem is, the way Ricky is playing since the AS break, he's a max player and he'll receive multiple max offers from the other teams if he keeps playing close to this. Can we afford to max Rubio, Wiggins, and Towns? What do we do with Lavine? Is Wiggins even on a trajectory to become worthy of the max?

I mean, we're crazy good right now, we're beating the best teams in the league or losing by a narrow margin, if we play like this throughout the whole regular season next year, we're like a top 4 seed. And it's not like what we're doing seems like our best, we'd be even more convincing if Wiggins wasn't slumping last 4 games or so, if Bazz or Dunn were decent, if Lavine was not injured.

Even if Rubio wasnt shooting like this, I would still feel the same way. Our identity has changed and Rubio is a big reason for it because I think he is back to playing happy basketball. We arent playing for offense anymore, we are defending and grinding teams down.

Kat is no longer launching 3s as much and has made his living in the paint and on the glass. Kat is on a monster roll right, but I am sure that he will continue to fight on the glass even when he is having an off night.
Ricky has been a constant, but he's been more aggressive with his attacks and shot. I think some of this aggro has to do with having to pick up the slack since lavines injury.
Wiggins is unguardable when he is on, but the question was always, "what does he do when he is off?" He hasnt shot the ball well the last few games, but his defense has been on point. Middleton, Beal, etc.. they didnt have an easy time. I think wiggs is just gassed and using more of his energy on defense than offense.

And I love how these guys are picking it up for each other. KAt is off, Wiggs or Rubio pick it up. Wiggs is off, Kat or Rubio pick it up, Rubio is off, he has frontrow tickets to the Kat and wiggy show.

These 3 guys have found another gear and are doing other things to help the team win. I dont know what these 3 are like off the court, but on the court, their chemistry is tight right now.

Ricky is ways away from receiving a max contract offer, not to mention he has 2 years left on his contract.

Wiggins is a on cold streak but it maybe due to fatigue. He also looked Sleepy AF. I saw him yawning on the bench, wtf, does he not sleep & rest when he's supposed to?

As a huge Rubio fan, yesterday's game was the best basketball game i've ever seen. Thanks for that, Ricky.

Now, you and Towns keep playing like this. Maybe throw in a little Wiggins and more of this Bjelica and Denver will have to win a lot of games to keep us out of that 8th seed.

Your right that he's not a max player, but when his contract is done after next season. His new contract will be over 20mil a year for sure. The wolves have to pay Rubio no matter what he is way too important to this teams future imo

His contract is over in 2019, not next year.

Perfect, I like seeing that, no way Thibs will move Rubio, with the way he's playing.

Kevin Lynch wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Lynch_(basketball)
Broadcast career
After retiring from professional basketball in 2000, Lynch returned to Minnesota and completed his degree in History (with an emphasis in Modern European History) in 2001.[5] Lynch was then hired as a men's basketball radio analyst for the Golden Gophers in 2001, taking the place of long-time Gopher radioman Ray Christiansen.[5] Later he was hired to call games for the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves. He is well known for his irrational hatred of Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio, even criticizing him for turnovers in his record breaking 19 assist game where he clearly outplayed John Wall in a Wolves victory which continued a stretch of amazing play that has seen Rubio outplay Chris Paul and Steph Curry among others. His criticisms of Rubio relegate him to being the NBA's least credible on air personality. An attempt to salvage his image has been set up by the local community in Minnesota on a gofundme page so he can finally earn a true journalism degree.

Lynch is just salty because he had a worse NBA career than Anthony Bennett. But I guess he can continue to fall back on his high school glory days 30 years ago.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
