Should the Wolves do a Kevin Garnett statue?

Post#1 » by kmgarnett21 » Wed Mar 29, 2017 1:36 pm

Curious, do you guys think the T'wolves will ever do a statue of KG outside the Target Center?

I think it's a no brainer, but I know most teams don't do statues. Just wondering if anyone knows if it's even been mentioned as a future possibility.

Is that something you'd want to see or nah? Are you a fan of immortalizing franchise's all-time greats in statue form?

KG will get a statue at some point. We have George Mikan rocking a Minneapolis Lakers jersey in the front lobby of Target Center, but not sure it will be in the Glen Taylor era though. I would not be surprised if he waits to have his jersey retired as well. On a scoop podcast with Wolfson, it sounds like they reached out to KG for jersey retirement and haven't even been called back yet.

Is that still because of Glen Taylor? Or because Thibs basically told him to retire?

I would guess it has pretty much everything to do with Glen Taylor and the whole ownership/front office role thing. I doubt there are any hard feelings towards Thibs.

He thinks Glen gave Sam a raw deal and that the franchise is deviating too far from the plan Flip put together.

It's a no brainer to me, he's by far the greatest player in franchise history

Absolutely. They need to work out whatever issues he has and schedule a jersey retirement ceremony too.

Imagine the classic chest beating in statue form.
