You weren't getting LaVine without it.
From what I've seen/heard, it was Butler for 7/Dunn/Rubio or Butler/16 for 7/Dunn/LaVine

Bulls fan here, couldn't disagree more. You traded a pittance that included your fan favorite high-flyer with a broken wing. Massive gamble would be not upgrading your team before Wiggins becomes a FA, and the Wolves were up against a glass ceiling with the talent they were rolling out. Make no mistake, Butler is your new #1, there is no pecking order. Butler loves Thibs and they will get along, but he's definitely out in two years so make use of that cap space now and go for it or he will lose interest. Would really have rather paid Lavine a Butler size contract this season after that injury rather than rolling with one of the leagues top two-way players for the next two?
Wheres Butler going in 2 years?
Similarly to PG, Butler covets a role with the Lakers in LA. Over the past few years he's made some somewhat lackluster attempts to put himself in the limelight by participating in Hollywood TV and Movies to bolster his star power. He expressed interest during several interviews in becoming an actor, or at the least participating in more film projects. I believe Wolves can keep him by building a true contender now however, spend that extra cap space and make another splash!

No
He talked to Paul Pierce who is on that show and I guess his blood is boiling. He does not want to come to Minnesota it appears.
