Voted yes. I freaking love this deal as a Wolves fan. Butler back with Thibs would be great. I always felt like Butler's bad rep as teammate was overstated. He's just a hard worker, as shown by his massive improvement since his rookie year, and he wants his teammates to work just as hard as him.

With KAT and Wiggs known to being hard workers, Butler will fit right in.

As a Bulls fan tho...
Why did GarPax have to give up that 16th pick??? :banghead:

Wow it looks like GarPax are really that high on Dunn. Hope he proves them right.

You weren't getting LaVine without it.

From what I've seen/heard, it was Butler for 7/Dunn/Rubio or Butler/16 for 7/Dunn/LaVine

Yeah just read about it. Trading for Dunn and Rubio made no sense from the Bulls perspective. But after learning that it was the Bulls who initiated the talks, i can see why Thibs didn't budge. Seems like GarPax are really that high on Dunn.

That said, I still feel like 16 was an overpay.

Bulls fan here, couldn't disagree more. You traded a pittance that included your fan favorite high-flyer with a broken wing. Massive gamble would be not upgrading your team before Wiggins becomes a FA, and the Wolves were up against a glass ceiling with the talent they were rolling out. Make no mistake, Butler is your new #1, there is no pecking order. Butler loves Thibs and they will get along, but he's definitely out in two years so make use of that cap space now and go for it or he will lose interest. Would really have rather paid Lavine a Butler size contract this season after that injury rather than rolling with one of the leagues top two-way players for the next two?

Wheres Butler going in 2 years?

Similarly to PG, Butler covets a role with the Lakers in LA. Over the past few years he's made some somewhat lackluster attempts to put himself in the limelight by participating in Hollywood TV and Movies to bolster his star power. He expressed interest during several interviews in becoming an actor, or at the least participating in more film projects. I believe Wolves can keep him by building a true contender now however, spend that extra cap space and make another splash!

Damn.

well thanks for sparing us some hope for 2019 free agency

Watching the nba jump on ESPN it sounds like Butler is pissed as hell. I would not be shocked if he refuses to report. Alonzo Mourning did this year's ago.

No

He talked to Paul Pierce who is on that show and I guess his blood is boiling. He does not want to come to Minnesota it appears.

He immediately put "Minnesota forever" in his Instagram bio. I'm not too worried.

Edit: he changed it now, but he originally wrote that. now it says 'tomball to minneapolis. #23 in minnesota.' If he were truly as upset as you're implying, I assume he'd have left that blank.

Another reason to like Butler: he listens to country music over "the hippity-hop songs"

Klomp,

Not sure it's the same person, but there was an individual, who created multiple accounts, spamming Wolves Chat over the "greatness" of Philly. It went as far back as the MCW days.
