Apologies for not having a link, but I just saw a news bump about Phoenix potentially wanting to add another first round pick. Sounds out of character for them, but are they perhaps in rapid fire rebuild mode? At least that suggests that they may not be dealing theirs off again this year...

Camby has been traded around and is heavy in trade talks, Shaq has been with 4 teams, Darko is on his 2nd and Gasol is on his 2nd team as well. Shaq is the only one to ever take his team to the finals but he is just on another level physically.

What im saying is that even if we dont use the pick on a Lopez or Love or another top C prospect, it doesnt mean we cant get a productive Center through trade or through FA.

Al Harrington, #14, and a resigned Patrick Obryant for #3, Fatoine Walker, and at least one second rounder.

Now I fully expect you guys to hammer me for this one, but a few things to think about.

Harrington can play both forward spots and the center position in certain matchups and is way more versatile for you than Fatoine.

O'Bryant didn't get a fair shake from Nellie and would fit perfectly next to Jefferson. I expect you guys to grab him on the cheap whether or not it's in a trade.

POB has alot of potential and is very reminisant of a young Robert Parish. Seems allof, but is really just feeling his way as he matures. The Warriors wasted this kid and if I go over the whole story you'd see it's merely a Nellie bias for mature veteran players rather than actually developing his young bigs. Check out the D-league stats from this year when he asked to go down and play rather than be on Nellie's inactive pine spot.

The #3 is the reason this deal won't happen, but at #14 you could definitely add a player that could be a better version of McCants in either Rush or CDR.

The dubs supposedly want Love and would try and grab him any way possible except for dealing Monta, Biedrins, or Brandan Wright.

Walker is definitely over the hill and practically of no use to the Dubs, so the #3 is definitely a reason to take on that trash.

Walker's deal expires after this season, Harrington is 28 and isn't especially good, O'Bryant is an unrestricted FA and if the wolves want him they could just sign him themselves, and the 3 is waaaaaay better than the 14 in this draft. This trade just isn't close at all.

I wouldn't do it either. Walker is pretty valuable to us at this point (expiring)

That's one of the worst trades I've seen proposed here.

Patrick O'Bryant is a UFA, not an RFA. You can't just sign him and trade.

Is Al Harrington worth an expiring? shrug.

Is the #3 worth the #14?

Al Harrington IMO is worth an expiring, for a team that needs solid role players to put them over the top. Not a great fit for us.

I think we'll trade our two seconds for Denver's first, #20 overall. Then will take the best available center. I think R. Lopez will be off the board and we'll take Koufos, while passing on Hibbert and McGee.

How did I get there? In making a mock draft I kept getting stuck on 20. Denver doesn't need a front court player with so much money invested in Nene, Martin, and Camby. Most mock's have them taking Lawson, but 20 seems a but early and I think they could get him or Chalmers at 31. Also factor in that Denver will be paying the lux for the full value of it's pick.

Maybe I'm parsing McHale's words too closely, but I found this quote revealing:

McHale wrote: It's a really deep draft. That's why I'm excited about 31 and 34 [their two second-round picks]. We can package those and move up, but the more and more I look at it, we might stay there. There are some really good, interesting players who might drop.

Notice that he said "We CAN package those and move up" and not "We may be able to package those and move up."

It sounds to me, as has long been rumored, that we have a deal in place.

Sixers at 16, just a guess. Seems there is a crush on McCants in PHI.

I have a concern that McHale might have been lined up for the #27.

Suppose McHale decided yesterday, as his Strib article suggests, that he decided to keep the pick and tells NOH.

NOH's first call is to POR, who has the #33 and #36. What if they said, "We don't want to trade, but we'll buy the pick for $3 mil, and you won't be responsibile for that salary. Deal?"

I have been saying this for a while now. :D we have 8-10 guys we like, 2-3 we love. We have already had deals offered to us, but we will not do anything til the draft has started. So we see where people fall.

Wow, this draft will be crazy.
