An NBA GM says Memphis's Derrick Rose and Kansas State's Michael Beasley will go 1-2 in the draft, no matter who makes the picks. The GM also said Southern Cal's O.J. Mayo won't get past Minnesota with the third pick. Why? "Too much talent. He's just solid. He's not super. But he's really a good basketball player, shooter, ball-handler, defender. He's not explosive, but a good athlete. Good basketball player. I think he could start."

Re: NBA GM predicts Wolves take Mayo
I could also easily see OJ Mayo start for us at the 2.
You just cannot pass up the talent and star potential that OJ Mayo has. If the Wolves front office is afraid of our center void they can look at free agency. Two guys that I would not mind playing center for us are Desagana Diop and Kwame Brown. No more than 3 years and no more than $5 mil/season though.
We'd have a more than capable backcourt with Foye and Mayo - we'd be set at the PG and SG positions for 10 years (as well as Big Al at the PF).
Randy Foye
OJ Mayo
Corey Brewer
Al Jefferson
Desagana Diop/Kwame Brown
I think that would be a great foundation to start building something around. Bring in a veteran PG, a scoring 2/3 and another offensive post presence and I think we'd have something.

I want mayo. The whole "good at everything---but not super athletic" is exactly what was said about Brandon Roy.

That's kinda what I was thinking as well. He reminds me a lot of Brandon Roy in ability. A little shorter, but not too much that I think it'd hinder him from producing just the same. Plus, his work ethic is BEAST, something I think would rub off on other players as well.

Then we can FINALLY have our all-utility lineup.
1/2 Bayless
1/2 Foye
1/2/3 Jaric
2/3 Brewer
3/4 Gomes
4/5 Jefferson
The possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!!
