Yes, he does. He thinks he is a great shooter, high BBIQ, focused defender, a playmaker. Hoiberg is very high on Mayo.

I have no direct source here, but in my opinion Mchale is a good mind. From what I hear he is letting Hoiberg do somethings. I worry that Mchale does not see a value difference in Beasley/Mayo/Love/Gallinari. If we trade down we need value. If we can get another starter+Gallinari then I will be cool. But I think this is Hoiberg's call.
