LAC/SEA Rumor or not???

Post#1 » by Winter Wonder » Thu Jun 26, 2008 6:55 pm

Saw it on the Knicks board, figured to report it here since it possibly effects us by limiting trade back partners or changing what they can offer.

Clips aquiring #4 from Sea for #7 and future 1st.

Heard on ESPN Radio, so I cannot validate truth. Not sure one the board policy on this and I have no link other than what I saw on NY board.

Not sure how I feel about it, don't think I like it.

why.

If the clippers can assure themselves Bayless, Miami will draft Mayo, then swap mayo+marion for brand and bayless.

Beasley drops to us

Yea I hear that's true and that Richard Jefferson has been traded to Milwaukee for Yi and Bobby Simmons. wow, looks like Yi really did want out cause I doubt they would just dump him after 1 year.

Does this make it more or less likely that they would want Beasley if he fell to us?

I see my draft dreams crumbling around me. :waaa:

Beasley is the truth. I'd love him or Mayo at 3.

I absolutely do not care.

I realize we are in wait and see mode to see where the prospects we may like fall, and that we may just be fine sitting where we are at. Nonetheless, it is difficult to watch some of these other deals happening while we hear nothing. I know, it is still early, but with so much buzz going around, it makes it difficult to idly sit back and wait (which we should somewhat be doing to see what happens with Beasley/Mayo and to a lesser extent Love/Gallinari).

+1. If Miami wants Bayless, this trade COULD be a precursor to the rumored Marion/Brand swap. Only now the Clips could definitely bring to the table what Miami wants.

ESPN is reporting this deal

Is this what MIA required to be able to trade the #2 and not include Blount (not Marion or Haslem)? You know that MIA did last minute workouts of both Mayo and Bayless, and they need a PG.

It's been reported per LA Times that the Sonics declined the offer but... Buchor said it's happening?? They're talking about it on the Sonic board

Yes. To me this points 100% to the Heat selecting Mayo and trading him to LAC with Marion for Brand. They want to win now, so the prospect they get back (Bayless) had better be able to start for them. Bayless would be gone at #7.

Side note. With NJ now collecting #8 and currently with #10 and #21 (I know way more picks than we may want), but do they become a prime trade back partner? Many Mocks have Lopez at 9 and Gallinari at 10, two players high on our list.

#3 and #34 (or #31) for #8, #10, #21 ?

EDIT to fix a draft pick #

someone on the general board said that espn news confirmed that deal. I haven't found it yet on espn so I'm not sure if it is really true

btw: this could also mean that the clips offer Kaman + #4 for #3. I actually don't think it will or might happen but still, seeing what already happened who knows?! would you do that? I certainly would

There's nothing to **** up, brother! We either get Mayo or Beasley. Looks to be 50/50 right now... I personally like Mayo better as a player, but Beasley is considered the can't-miss prospect of this draft, more talented even than Rose (who's a lock to go first because of the Bulls' trouble with "low character" guys and need for a point guard.)

LOL that's what I have been thinking all week. These guys are running this draft right now. If I wasn't concerned about Beasley it would be a non issue but I am so I'm worried. It would be funny if the Bulls took Beasley and just exploded everybody's universe. The draft would go up in flames.
